An unconventional holiday treat is on stage at Milwaukee's Skylight Music Theatre through January 2nd. Directed by Michael Unger (his first since taking the reins as Artistic Director), Little Shop of Horrors may not tee up glad tidings of comfort and cheer, but a show this fun is equal to the festive task. Little Shop brings joy, humor, astonishment... and a bloodthirsty plant.

There are certain musical theatre pieces that audiences see on Broadway and believe the version they saw is the only way the material can be interpreted. Beauty and the Beast definitely falls into that category for the sole reason of that once you’ve seen how Disney produced it originally, it’s impossible to see it done in a less spectacular way.

Walnut Street Theatre (WST) continues its 213th season with Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID. Directed by Glenn Casale and choreographed by John MacInnis, the production begins previews on November 16, 2021, opens November 24, and continues through January 2, 2022 on the Walnut’s Mainstage.

Ariel, the youngest daughter of the Mer-King Triton, does not feel like she belongs in her world under the sea and wishes to live in the human world above. When she falls in love with Eric, a young human prince, she is willing to risk everything to win his heart, and makes a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, to trade her voice for human legs. However, the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel will need the help of her colorful friends, Sebastian the crab, Scuttle the seagull, and Flounder the fish, Scuttle to restore order in both worlds.
With a book by Doug Wright, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and music by Alan Menken, the show is sure to delight audience members of all ages.
The Little Mermaid performs at 7 p.m. on November 18th, 7 p.m. on Friday, November 19th, 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th, and 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at the McCoy Center for the Arts, 100 West Dublin-Granville Rd., New Albany, OH 43054. TUTS Announces the Cast of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID

The Little Mermaid cast features many familiar faces for TUTS audiences. Delphi Borich will return to TUTS in the role of “Ariel.” Borich was previously seen on the TUTS stage as “Belle” in Disney's Beauty and the Beast during the musical theatre company's 50th Anniversary Season. Christina Wells, who was in previous TUTS productions of All Shook Up and Seussical, will play “Ursula.”
