GhostLit Repertory Theatre Company, under the leadership of Harrison Lang and Caitlin Teeley, has announced that a semi-staged concert performance of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Tony Award-winning classic Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street will be performed today, January 19 at 7:30pm at The Egremont Barn.

In February 2019, the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh (MCP) invites audiences to celebrate Black History Month with the Pittsburgh premiere of American composer Donald McCullough's "Let My People Go! A Spiritual Journey Along the Underground Railroad." This concert of African American spirituals is presented in collaboration with Ebenezer Baptist Church, where the concert will take place on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, December 9th, 'Burgh Vivant will present a staged reading of the classic comedy play Auntie Mame, featuring 2013 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Performer of the Year Daina Griffith in the title role.  The evening will benefit 'Burgh Vivant's mission to promote arts and culture in Pittsburgh.

Craig Pettinati's staging of Sweeney Todd at the Kensington Arts Theatre is bursting with bright, young talent that promises theater traditions will be faithfully kept by a new generation. Most of the cast members are likely a decade or two younger than the 1979 Broadway debut of Stephen Sondheim's bloodiest musical, but they have a command of the material that is refreshing. The community theater favorite is staged in an intimate, and sometimes interactive, setting that offers an exciting new experience for fans and newcomers alike. The reward, however, is viewing a production featuring a number of fresh performers who feel primed to command any equity stage they choose.

City Theatre is excited to welcome the musical theater writing team of Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond back to Pittsburgh for A Holiday Homecoming. The pair met while studying at Carnegie Mellon and the cabaret marks their City Theatre debut. Fresh off the success of their work on the Disney Channel's VAMPIRINA, the duo will host a two night only event on the theater's main stage showcasing music from their award winning works including Dani Girl and Romantics Anonymous with a few holiday favorites sprinkled in. Music directed by Nick Stamatakis, A Holiday Homecoming will run on the City Theatre Main Stage, November 30 and December 1. Tickets are on sale now.

Just in time for the Halloween season, Pioneer Theatre Company presents the diabolical musical thriller Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and book by Hugh Wheeler based on an adaption by Christopher Bond.

Just in time for Halloween, The Snapshots Collective presents the ghoulish musical thriller Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street from October 10-31, 2018 at Mrs. Lovett's Pie Shop in Vancouver's historic Gastown. In this immersive, site-specific production, audiences will get up close and personal with the demon barber himself. Featuring an incredible cast of accomplished performers, visionary director Chris Adams and award-winning choreographer Nicol Spinola tell the gruesome tale of Sweeney Todd, a tormented man bent on revenge and his unholy alliance with the resourceful pie-maker, Mrs. Lovett. Halloween thrill-seekers will delight in this macabre journey of murder, music, and seriously sinister pies.
