GhostLit Repertory Theatre Company Presents SWEENEY TODD

GhostLit Repertory Theatre Company, under the leadership of Harrison Lang and Caitlin Teeley, has announced that a semi-staged concert performance of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Tony Award-winning classic Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street will be performed on Saturday, January 19 at 7:30pm at The Egremont Barn.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is the infamous tale of love, revenge, and accidental cannibalism. Set in nineteenth century London, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to his hometown to seek vengeance against the lecherous Judge Turpin and his Beadle, both of whom framed Sweeney and ravaged his young wife. This journey leads him into the intriguing grips of Mrs. Nellie Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. The story quickly shifts once Sweeney's thirst for blood becomes contagiously uncontrollable, leading to a "unique ingredient" for Mrs. Lovett's pies that has the unsuspecting customers of London lining up out the door.

Directed by Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of GhostLit Repertory Theatre Company, Harrison Lang (Co-Director of Fun Home; GhostLit Rep- BroadwayWorld Nomination for Best Musical), with Music Direction by Michael Pacifico (Moulin Rouge; The Emerson Colonial Theatre), this performance of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street marks the second installment in GhostLit Rep's annual "Sondheim Winter Concert Series". Attendees will get an intimate look at this thrilling show that has simultaneously shocked, awed, and delighted audiences across the world, as well as advance notice of GhostLit Rep's upcoming spring and summer season.

Featured in the concert cast will be Matt Passetto (BroadwayWorld nominee for Best Actor in Fun Home; GhostLit Rep) as Sweeney Todd, Caitlin Teeley (BroadwayWorld nominee for Best Actress in Fun Home; GhostLit Rep) as Mrs. Lovett, Corey Bryant (Bells Are Ringing; Berkshire Theatre Group & The Flick; Theatre in the Square) as Anthony Hope, Mackenzie Norris (The Music Man; Shenandoah Music Theatre & Les Miserables; Tulane Summer Lyric) as Johanna Barker, Steve Hassmer (Sweeney Todd; Mac-Haydn Theatre & Rigoletto;Berkshire Opera Company)as Judge Turpin, Jackson Teeley (Fun Home; GhostLit Rep & Spring Awakening; GhostLit Rep) as Tobias Ragg, Gwendolyn Tunnicliffe (WAM Theatre) as The Beggar Woman, Cody Lee Miller (The Tempest: A Musical; GhostLit Rep) as Beadle Bamford, and Michael Pacifico (King Kong; Broadway Theatre) as Adolfo Pirelli. Featured in the ensemble will be Haley Aguero (Tarzan;Berkshire Theatre Group & The Music Man; Berkshire Theatre Group), Taylor Slonaker (The Tempest: A Musical; Ghostlit Rep), and Crystal Moore (Newsies;Proteus Theatre Troup).
