“The Boomer Boys Musical” arrives at The Palm Springs Cultural  Center for five performances on February 11, 12, and 13, 2022, for a hilarious night of songs, jokes, and stories about what happens to men when they reach a “certain age.” Lyrics are by BillyVan Zandt and Jane Milmore, music is by Wayland Pickard. The evening is produced  by Scott Stander.  

November has been a very busy month for musical theater in Paris. On top of the big shows opening at Mogador, Théâtre du Gymnase, and Théâtre de Paris, the Auguste Théâtre has been hosting a very intimate musical entitled Simply Musicals: Manila, London, Paris. Produced by Pinoy Jam Paris in patnership with the association Paris Broadway Saigon in 2012, it is a cabaret show with a storyline showcasing the talented baritone Dennis Astorga and the delightful soprano Charley Magalit, accompanied by the magic fingers of musical director Thomas MacFarlane at the piano.

The next Musical Theatre Melodies broadcast, hosted by Rob Morrison on 96.5 Inner FM on Tuesday, October 26 will pay tribute to the Academy, Grammy and Ivor Novello Award-winning composer, lyricist, librettist and screenwriter, Leslie Bricusse (who passed away at his home in the South of France last week at the age of 90).

Bricusse wrote songs for the classic 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, including 'The Candyman' and 'Pure Imagination'. His other musical credits included Scrooge, Jekyll & Hyde, Doctor Dolittle, Sherlock Holmes, Stop the World- I Want to Get Off, and Victor/Victoria.

Renowned vocalist Mafalda Minnozzi has announced the release of Cinema City - Jazz Scenes from Italian Film. On her new album, which is out October 1, 2021, the inimitable Minnozzi uncovers a new side as she explores the Italian cinematic songbook in the company of her first-rate band and special invited guests.

The joy and terror of doing cabaret entertainment is that it is amazingly confessional. There are no characters to hide behind. Only music, a performer, and his experiences. The vulnerability is exponentially compounded when the show you set out to do tells the story of your life. It is an extremely courageous thing to do. That is the task that Mark Corpron sets for himself in his show MOVING ON: SONGS OF JOURNEY, which opened last night at Don’t Tell Mama. The show sets out to explore not the destinations we arrive at in life, but rather the journeys that happen in between those destinations. It focuses on a soul with a permanent case of wanderlust and the loneliness that often accompanies such globe-trotting adventures.

The Gracie Theatre at Husson University will welcome patrons back with a spectacular line-up of performers for its tenth season. This season's offerings include something for everyone.

The Jimmy Awards has just announced this year’s 72 nominees from 36 regions around the US. The national student showcase will be streamed on Thursday, July 15th at 7:30 PM. The show will feature dynamic ensemble and solo performances and will culminate with two students presented with a Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor award with a total of 20 awards and scholarships available to participants.

Known for reimagining the Great American Songbook of country music, Los Angeles-based vocalist Staci Griesbach is launching a new music collection called SONGBOOK SINGLES, debuting with the 1951 Academy Award-nominated Best Original Song “A Kiss to Build a Dream On” and 1961 Academy Award-winning Best Original Song “Moon River.”
