Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain will come to Broadway this spring as Nora Helmer in director Jamie Lloyd’s new production of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, in a new version by Amy Herzog. Learn more about the production here!

Playwright Lucas Hnath was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Later his move to New York led him to study Pre-Med, but soon he changed his major to Dramatic Writing, where he studied at Tisch School for the Arts earning a BFA, and subsequently following an MFA. Hnath is the playwright of 10 Dramatic works. His Broadway Debut and most notably his best work A Doll's House Part 2, debuted on Broadway in April of 2017 and closed in September later that year. Commissioned by South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, California, Hnath's contemporary spin/sequel to the Ibsen classic starred Laurie Metcalf, Chris Cooper, Jayne Houdyshell, and Condola Rashad. Metcalf later went on to win a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for her portrayal of Nora Helmer. Subsequently, Hnath's work was also a nominee for Best Play at the time.

Vanguard University's department of theatre arts will present A Doll's House written by Hendrik Ibsen. The production is presented in the Lyceum Theater on the Vanguard University campus, beginning October 21st, 2022, and running two weekends through October 30th.

Simon Russell Beale takes on the disgraced mogul, Nicholas Hytner directs. Anna Fleischle designs the show. It’s a winning team, but the piece leaves the audience as cold as a Norwegian winter.

Austin-based independent theatre company The Filigree Theatre announces the launch of their Season Four productions and theme “By the Sea.” The 2022-23 season will kick off this fall with Henrik Ibsen's “The Lady From the Sea” - haunted by the sea and a mysterious past love, a woman must choose between her married life and the thrill of the unknown lying in wait beyond the ocean deep.

Due to a cast change, 'Hedda Gabler' must postpone its opening by one week. The production now begins September 29, runs through October 9. Sean Phillips takes over role of Eilert Lovborg.

When theaters shut down during COVID, the effects of social isolation have been acutely felt by senior citizens and those who are housebound. In response, 24/6: A Jewish Theater Company has commissioned a diverse group of 16 playwrights to write 10 minute plays to be performed over the telephone one-on-one by individual volunteers to individual senior citizens and others who are housebound and don't have easy access to the internet.

Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is presenting the Los Angeles premiere of what may be Henrik Ibsen's most controversial play, Ghosts, adapted by acclaimed British director Richard Eyre and directed by Bart DeLorenzo, a Los Angeles-based theater director and producer who is the founding artistic director of the Evidence Room theater, a 17-year-old company renowned in Los Angeles for contemporary theater productions. I decided to speak with Bart about what led him to direct this new adaptation at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble.
