The Tony Award-winning Alley Theatre has revealed the cast and creative team of its 77th season kick-off production – Agatha Christie’s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, adapted for the stage and directed by Mark Shanahan. 

Celebrated singer-songwriter Mahalia Barnes will headline Songs of Hope and Healing in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC) Concert Hall on Tuesday 7 June 2022.

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit and intelligence who dreams of a better life. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly lovable Miss Honey. Despite a mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, and older school kids who like to torment the younger students, Matilda uses her courage and cleverness to save not only herself but soon becomes her fellow students' saving grace!

Following a highly successful run at Latitude Festival, the multi-award winning Poleroid Theatre bring BAFTA nominated playwright Kenneth Emson's Plastic to life at the Old Red Lion Theatre. Directed by JMK 2017 award winner Josh Roche (My Name Is Rachel Corrie), this powerful new play explores how the insecurities of childhood can follow us into later life in this unflinchingly honest drama about time, memory and escape.

Louis Greatorex (Safe, Netflix; The Last Post, BBC1; Last Tango In Halifax, BBC1), Madison Clare (The Dark Things, Linbury Studio Theatre; War Whores, Courtyard Theatre; Close, Landor Space), Mark Weinman (Captain Amazing, Soho Theatre/Live/UK Tour; The Gamechangers, BBC2; Press, BBC1) and Thomas Coombes (Barbarians, Tooting Arts Club - winner of Best Male Performance at the Off West End Theatre Awards; Hatton Garden, ITV; Him & Her, BBC Three) will star in Plastic by BAFTA-nominated playwright Kenneth Emson. This powerful new play explores how the insecurities of childhood can follow us into later life in this unflinchingly honest drama about time, memory and escape.

This April, following an acclaimed debut at Latitude Festival, Poleroid Theatre in association with the Mercury Theatre Colchester present PLASTIC by Kenneth Emson. The show is directed by Josh Roche.
