Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash is set to open August 10th at the Ivoryton Playhouse.

What happens when you give the gritty and rustic lyrics of Johnny Cash to highly trained, technically proficient, powerful Broadway vocalists? The result is a stunning, moving, uplifting musical that has played to sold-out houses across the country and is opening at the Ivoryton Playhouse on August 10th.

In January 2009 at the inauguration of Barack Obama, Pete Seeger joyfully led a crowd of hundreds of thousands in singing 'This Land Is Your Land'. The spirit of that song's writer, American Folk legend Woody Guthrie is celebrated in the new musical, Woody Sez, which blasts onto the stage of the Arts Theatre this January.

2009's DRAMA AT THE GASFIELDS attracted more than 2,500 people to the grounds of Windibri Homestead near Chinchilla, and this year's event on Saturday 13 March promises to be bigger and better than ever. As part of this year's event, La Boite will premiere new work THE SPIRIT OF THE LAND, written by former Artistic Director Sean Mee (Oodgeroo: Bloodline to Country).

Lyric Theatre, Oklahoma's premiere professional theatre company, will present the American Premiere of Woody Sez, the words, music, & spirit of Woody Guthrie as part of the 2009 'Lyric at the Plaza' season.
