This year's Magic in Rough Spaces New Play Lab (MIRS) is going virtual!

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents a Virtual Works & Process: American Repertory Theater's Ocean Filibuster by PearlDamour on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 7:30pm. The event is free, but space is limited and RSVP is required at www.worksandprocess.org; a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day of the performance.

Building on over 40 years of producing powerful contemporary theatre, Studio Theatre is pleased to announce its largest class ever of commissioned artists to Studio R&D, its incubator to support the creation of new work. Studio will award grants to 10 artists-playwrights, directors, and multidisciplinary creators-investing in its future while supporting theatre-makers and expanding the idea of what it means to be a generative artist. For the first time, Studio R&D commissions are being awarded to support the creation of audio plays, as Studio explores alternate modes of theatrical storytelling in response to the present moment.

theatreWashington, the nonprofit organization responsible for the Helen Hayes awards ceremony, has announced via Facebook that the Awards ceremony, which was previously postponed from May 18 to August 24, will now take place online.

Writers Sahar Jahani (Ramy, 13 Reasons Why, Just One Night), Sylvia Khoury (Selling Kabul, Power Strip, Against the Hillside), and Heather Raffo (Noura, 9 Parts of Desire) will comprise Noor Theatre's second Artists Advancing Cultural Change Cohort in partnership with Pop Culture Collaborative to develop a new piece in a medium of their choice.
