Cast and Creatives Set For SHIFTERS at Bush Theatre

Shifters opens at the Bush Theatre on 16 February 2024.  This surprising and playful world premiere, a new Bush Theatre commission written by Benedict Lombe (Lava, winner of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for Playwriting) and directed by Bush Theatre Artistic Director, Lynette Linton (August in England, Clyde's) will star Heather Agyepong (School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play) and Tosin Cole (Doctor Who).

Theatr Clwyd Announces Cast For World Premiere of CELEBRATED VIRGINS: A STORY OF THE LADIES OF LLANGOLLEN

Theatr Clwyd today announces the cast for their new production of Celebrated Virgins: A Story of the Ladies of Llangollen, created by Katie Elin-Salt and Eleri B. Jones. This inspiring new play, based on the remarkable true sapphic love story of Lady Eleanor Butler and Miss Sarah Ponsonby, opens at Theatr Mix – Theatr Clwyd's temporary theatre village – on 24 May, with previews from 20 May, and runs until 4 June.

Fuel Director Kate McGrath has today announced a programme of work planned for autumn 2020. All the work will be presented with Covid-secure protocols in place and will range from performances in socially distanced venues, to outdoor spaces in housing estates and round bonfires, from digital tours to performances that can be enjoyed from the luxury of your own bathtub.

Amazon's THE POWER Sets Further Casting

Amazon Studios has today announced further casting for The Power, an urgent 10-part global thriller based on the international bestselling novel of the same name, produced by Sister (Chernobyl, Giri/Haji, The Split) for Amazon Studios with Emmy Award-winning executive producer and director Reed Morano (The Handmaid's Tale). The Power is adapted for screen by writer, creator and executive producer Naomi Alderman, who is working alongside an all-female writers' room, with every episode also to be directed by women.

Fuel Announces 2020 Programme

Fuel's first commission for 2020 is Inua Ellams' first work for children: a radical afro-futurist reimagining of the classic French children's story The Little Prince by Saint-Exupéry. Broken down in the Sahara Desert, desperate to repair her plane, a pilot meets an extraordinary Prince. They quickly form a friendship and the pilot re-discovers the power of imagination, the importance of small efforts, and the meaning of friendship. Directed by Femi Elufowoju Jr with design by Miriam Nabarro and music by Cassie Kinoshi, the show will open at Stratford Circus Arts Centre as part of a programme supported by Newham Council to give every year 6 pupil in the borough the opportunity to see a new piece of theatre for free. The Little Prince is a Fuel production in association with English Touring Theatre, co-commissioned by Fuel, Stratford Circus Arts Centre, ASU Gammage, Z-arts, The Albany, Warwick Arts Centre and Future Arts Centres. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England and the Garrick Trust.
