The DCPA Theatre Company, the producing regional theatre arm of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA), is proud to announce full casting and creative teams for the world premieres of Bonnie Metzgar's You Lost Me and Tony Meneses' twenty50.

Back in that age we call golden, Broadway marquees were frequently set ablaze by long-running plays that producers looking to turn a profit lovingly referred to as boulevard comedies. These were typically middlebrow laugh machines expertly crafted by the likes of Mary Chase, Neil Simon or Abe Burrows (Think HARVEY, THE ODD COUPLE or CACTUS FLOWER), involving contemporary everyday characters in realistic situations containing just enough sentiment to make you care about what happens next, while maybe even wrapping up with an uncontroversial, heartwarming message.

a??a??a??a??a??a??a??Judson Theatre Company (Daniel Haley, Artistic Director and Morgan Sills, Executive Producer) has announced that Amanda Bearse will play Olive Madison and Teresa Ganzel will play Florence Unger in their March production of Neil Simon's The Odd Couple (Female Version). Performances begin Thursday, March 26 and run through Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Owens Auditorium at the newly renovated Bradshaw Performing Arts Center (3395 Airport Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374).

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that actor John Karlen passed away earlier today at age 86 of congestive heart failure in hospice care in Burbank, California.

ABC News Live, America's No. 1 streaming news channel, is kicking off a bold strategy for new, original programming in 2020. By year's end, ABC News Live will air 18 hours of live and original content daily across all dayparts. The streaming channel's robust schedule will include a mix of live, anchored news programs in prime time, morning and daytime, breaking news coverage and all-new original documentaries. To kick off the first wave of new programming, ABC News has expanded the roles of correspondent Linsey Davis and chief national affairs correspondent and “World News Tonight” Weekend anchor Tom Llamas to anchor two prime-time hours streaming each weeknight and breaking news and live special event coverage, respectively. Both will continue in their broadcast roles, reporting from the field and delivering exclusive news-making interviews for all ABC News programs.

The Levis JCC West Boca Theatre Company (WBTC) has burst onto the cultural scene this year with a season chock-full of critically-acclaimed productions. The Atlanta Opera has announced its 41st season. True to the vision of Tomer Zvulun, the company's Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. General & Artistic Director, the 2020-21 lineup boasts major new productions of three critically important works: Das Rheingold, one of the most iconic in the canon; The Sound of Music, one of the best-loved classics of musical theater; and The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, one of contemporary opera's most palpable hits, now receiving its Southeast premiere. Together with the Atlanta premiere of As One, Steve Jobs is one of two topical and much talked-about new operas in Atlanta's award-winning Discoveries series, which breaks down barriers between artists and their audience by providing intimate, immersive experiences in nontraditional spaces.

Philadelphia Theatre Company continues its 45th Anniversary season with a powerful drama about forgiveness set in Amish Country in Pennsylvania. PTC is thrilled to begin the year with the Philadelphia Premiere of The Kilroys List Honorable Mention, Everything is Wonderful, by Chelsea Marcantel.

Director/writer Simon Stone's (Yerma) Medea will extend its run to March 8th, due to popular demand. Fourteen additional performances have been added to the schedule, which began previews on January 12th and opens on January 30th. The production is staged at the Harvey Theater at BAM Strong (651 Fulton St, Brooklyn).

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, as part of its 50th Anniversary season, has announced the cast for the York Legacy Concerts of the 1969 Broadway musical Celebration, written by the revered songwriting team of Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones.

Peter Bull is today announced as the 13th Artistic Associate of the King's Head Theatre, and will be staging several shows at the theatre in 2020, the first of which will be the Off-Broadway musical hit, Naked Boys Singing! in March 2020, with further projects to be announced in the coming weeks and months.

The first production in this season will be Pulitzer Prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks' modern epic IN THE BLOOD (17 April a?" 6 June 2020). Ellen McDougall will direct the first major UK production.

In addition to the previously announced world premières of Milky Peaks and For The Grace of You Go I, Tamara Harvey and Liam Evans-Ford, Artistic Director and Executive Director of Theatr Clwyd today announce further programming for their 2020 season, which will include a major revival of Steve Waters' The Contingency Plan a?" in a co-production with the Donmar Warehouse, the world première of Project Hush, and Beauty and the Beast, the company's twenty-third annual rock 'n' roll pantomime, which sees Harvey make her pantomime directorial debut. The company today also announces the full cast and tour dates for Seiriol Davies' Milky Peaks.

Desert Rose Playhouse has another winner in its laugh-filled world premiere campy musical, THOSE MUSCLEBOUND COWBOYS FROM SNAKE PIT GULCH, with book by Andy Halliday, music by Frank Schiro, and lyrics by CJ Critt. This production is well-done in every way.

This February, Roxey Ballet will present an Evening of Love and Romance with its contemporary re-telling of Carmen and revival of Frida from February 7th through February 16th in it's intimate, home-studio theater located in Lambertville.

Mid-January in New York City does not appear to be a particularly romantic or momentous time of year for The Big Apple. The Christmas decorations have come down (most of them at least) and the holiday revelers and hoards of tourists have retreated, getting on with their own lives for the start of a new year -- and in this case, a new decade -- during a very tumultuous time where everything matters and nothing, especially in the arts, feels arbitrary.

The TexARTS Professional Series presents The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On written and created by Roger Bean and vocal and musical arrangements by Michael Borth. Performances will take place February 14 - March 1, 2020 at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, is presenting the return engagement of the Off-Broadway production of Gerard Alessandrini's hilarious musical spoof of all things theatre Forbidden Broadway: The Next Generation. Theresa Caputo, from TLC's hit show, Long Island Medium, will be appearing live at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Friday, June 19th and Saturday, June 20th at 7:30 p.m. Theresa will share personal stories about her life and explain how her gift works. She will deliver healing messages to audience members and give people comfort knowing that their loved ones who passed are still with them, just in a different way.
