Theater Latté Da today announces Bethany Brinton, Crystal Manich and Celeste Moreno as the recipients of the NEXT Generation Commission in 2022, furthering Theater Latté Da's commitment to providing opportunities for women artists and BIPOC artists. The NEXT Generation Commission supports the creation and development of new musical theatre projects whose creative teams are at least 50% women artists or BIPOC artists. The creative team will share the $20,000 commission.

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, announce the second show of its 30th Anniversary Repertory Season, the Los Angeles premiere of BRIGHT HALF LIFE, written by Pulitzer Prize nominee Tanya Barfield and directed by Amy K. Harmon.  BRIGHT HALF LIFE will begin previews on Monday, April 4; will open on Friday, April 8 at 8pm and run through Sunday, May 22 at the Road Theatre, located in The NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced Mike Lew as the recipient of the 2022 L. Arnold Weissberger New Play Award for his play tiny father. Lew will receive the $10,000 award and the accompanying $10,000 Jay Harris Commission to write a new play.

Philadelphia’s InterAct Theatre Company will bring the live Philadelphia production of THIS BITTER EARTH to VIMEO from February 28 - March 13 2022. The live production started 1/28/22 and will end 2/20/22. THIS BITTER EARTH takes place in the memory of Jesse, a Black playwright who finds himself in a relationship with Neil, a white Black Lives Matter activist. As Jesse remembers Neil, the audience is brought on a journey of their relationship, and the birth of the American BLM movement.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced updates to the next season’s Fall/Winter programming Off-Broadway. The Wanderers, by Anna Ziegler, directed by Barry Edelstein will start performances on January 26, 2023 at the Laura Pels Theater in the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This production was originally scheduled for 2020 and postponed due to the shutdown.
