Local Theater Company (Local) announces selections for its annual festival of new American plays, Local Lab. In honor of the theater's 10th season, Local has expanded the festival and will now support the development of 10 new works including four scripted plays, three artist-devised works, two original commissions and a new musical.

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY remains committed to their meaningful mission to produce and develop New Work for the Stage. They are thrilled to announce in this, their 29th season, the play submission process is now open for new material to be considered for their upcoming playwrights festival.

For the 37th annual presentation of PlayLabs Festival, the premier new play incubation program, the Playwrights' Center is meeting the changing needs of the moment. Public readings will be presented online and the festival roster has expanded to include four playwrights developing their work.

Antipodes Theatre Company has announced casting for Harrison David Rivers' This Bitter Earth. Part of ATC's Ricochet Reading Series, the online reading will be streamed live to the ATC Facebook Page on Monday, 19th October at 7:00pm and remain available for 24 hours.

The Homebound Project has announced the lineup for its fifth and final edition of new online theater benefiting hungry children affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Co-creators Catya McMullen and Jenna Worsham, along with their all-volunteer team, have also announced that over $100,000 has been raised to date for No Kid Hungry.

About Face Theatre welcomes Mikael Burke to its staff in the role of Associate Artistic Director to lead AFT's education and new work development programs. Burke has been working with AFT since 2016 when he directed for the AIDS On Stage reading series.

Transport Group has announced that the filmed performance of its world premiere musical Broadbend, Arkansas will be available for video streaming beginning Monday, July 20 for four weeks. An original cast recording will be released by Broadway Records later this month.
