The Joffrey Ballet closes its 67th season with the long-awaited Chicago premiere of John Neumeier's beautifully haunting interpretation of The Little Mermaid. A gripping tableau of shadows and colors, Neumeier's world-renowned production of Hans Christian Andersen's 1837 tragic folktale follows the tormented mermaid heroine on a journey between the divergent worlds of land and sea—one utterly complex, the other magnificently serene.

Theater Breaking Through Barriers, the only professional Off-Broadway theater company dedicated to advancing artists and developing audiences of people with disabilities, will present the Off Broadway debut with Yasmina Reza's acclaimed Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage, with a translation by Christopher Hampton.

The Little Mermaid soundtrack is now available for pre-order and pre-save ahead of its digital release on May. Featuring all-new performances by the cast, the soundtrack is set to feature four new original songs that the original film's composer Alan Menken co-wrote with Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents a family series of shows as part of their 2022/2023 season programming. The first is Somos Amigos on March 4 and 5. Following will be Ugly Duckling on March 18 and 19. Next is Grimmz Fairy Tales on April 22 and 23. Doctor Kaboom: Look Out! Science is Coming! will close the series on May 6 and 7.

Lyrical season will have 11 titles, including the premiere of O Machete, by Mehmari. Throughout 2023, will be presented of Il Seraglio, by Mozart, Cinderella, by Viardot, The Cunning Little Vixen, by Janácek, Dido and Eneas, by Purcell, among others. The program also includes ballet shows, symphonic and chamber music concerts.
