The Drama League has announced the twelve stage directors who have been selected as the 2019 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: NJ Agwuna, Sharifa Elkady, Raz Golden, Chika Ike, Rebecca Marzalek-Kelly, Ismael Lara, Jr., Amanda McRaven, Lindsey Hope Pearlman, Ben Randle, Tai Thompson, Gabriel Torres, and Sophia Watt. They will be publicly introduced to the professional theatre community during the 85th Annual Drama League Awards, which will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) has announced the theater directors chosen to develop new plays and musicals as part of the 2019 Drama League Artist Residency Program. Public work-in-progress presentations of each residency will be held periodically throughout the year at The Drama League Theater Center, 32 Avenue of the Americas, in Tribeca. Joseph G. Leavey Foundation. The play will begin at 7:30pm at the Davenport Theatre, a converted firehouse on West 45th Street, and will run through Jan. 23.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11 at noon, Manhattan College will host a performance of "The Guys," an off-Broadway play by Anne Nelson, directed by Hannah Ryan, associate director of the 2015 Tony Award winner The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. The play tells the story of Manhattan College alumnus Lt. Joseph G. Leavey of the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY).

Tony and Olivier Award winning producers, Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley hosted a dinner in honor of the 2014-2015 Directors Project fellows on Tuesday, May 13th. The Directors Project fellows are in New York city for an intensive week-long orientation program which includes a series of events and opportunities to speak with theatre professionals.
