Photo Flash: EVITA Celebrates Opening at the Pantages

EVITA will return to L.A. by way of Hollywood Pantages for a limited three week engagement, now through November 10, 2013. Directed by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Michael Grandage and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford, this national touring production comes directly from the first new Broadway revival of the seven-time Tony Award-winning musical, since it debuted on Broadway over 30 years ago. EVITA Begins Performances This Week at the Pantages

Producers Hal Luftig, Scott Sanders, Troika Entertainment & The Nederlander Organization have announced that EVITA will return to L.A. by way of Hollywood Pantages for a limited three week engagement; October 23 - November 10, 2013.

THE LAST GOODBYE to Land on Broadway After Another Developmental Tryout?

The Old Globe is currently presenting The Last Goodbye, a new musical fusing Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel and directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers , the rock musical might be eventually heading to Broadway.

EVITA National Tour Set for Limited Run at Fox Theatre, Now thru 10/20

Performances of EVITA at the Fabulous Fox Theatre run tonight, October 8 -20. Show times are Today through Saturday evenings at 8pm, Saturday afternoons at 2pm and Sunday afternoons at 1pm. There will be an evening performance on Sunday, October 13 at 6pm and a matinee on Thursday, October 17 at 1pm.

Tony-Winning KINKY BOOTS Recoups on Broadway in 30 Weeks!

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig just announced that Kinky Boots, this year's Tony Award-winning Best Musical, has recouped its costs in just 30 weeks. Capitalized at $13.5 million, Kinky Boots achieved this milestone faster than any big budget musical in recent history. With a Tony Award-winning score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, the smash hit musical plays to standing-room-only crowds nightly and continues to shatter box office records at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street), where it started previews on March 4 and officially opened on April 4, 2013.

The Old Globe will open its 2013-14 Season with The Last Goodbye, a new musical that marries Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel, the rock musical is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). Choreography is by Sonya Tayeh ('So You Think You Can Dance'), and orchestrations, music direction and arrangements are by Kris Kukul. The complete creative team and casting, as well as the remainder of the Globe's new season, will be announced at a later date. The Last Goodbye will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sunday, Sept. 22 - Nov. 3, 2013. Preview performances run Sept. 22- Oct. 5. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 6. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. KINKY BOOTS Breaks Box Office Record For Fifth Time Since June

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that Kinky Boots, this year's Tony Award-winning Best Musical, has set a new box office record at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, for the fifth time since the week ending June 16, 2013. Kinky Boots' gross for the week ending July 28, 2013 was $1,612,845.00, the highest for any eight-show week at the Hirschfeld Theatre. Prior to Kinky Boots, the holiday favorite Elf held the Hirschfeld's house record for an 8-performance week, grossing $1,464,912.50 in December 2010.

Public Theater's HERE LIES LOVE to Transfer to Broadway After Off-Broadway Run?

HERE LIES LOVE is set to close at the Public Theater's downtown home on Sunday night, and the theater company is looking into 'design options for an array of theater spaces and negotiating with Broadway and downtown theater producers about remounting the show in the near future,' according to The New York Times. Oskar Eustis told NYT that an announcement about the show's future could come as early as next month.

Tickets for EVITA at The Oriental Theatre on Sale 7/19

Broadway In Chicago has announced that individual tickets for Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award-winning musical EVITA go on-sale to the public starting this Friday, July 19, 2013 at 10 a.m. EVITA will play the Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph) for a limited engagement Sep. 18 - Oct. 6, 2013.

KINKY BOOTS to Replace General Rush Policy with Lottery, Begin. 7/9

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that Kinky Boots, this year's Tony Award-winning Best Musical, has implemented a new lottery ticket policy, following the show's recent record-breaking weeks at the box office. Beginning Tuesday, July 9, a general ticket lottery will replace the previous general rush policy (for which many fans began sleeping outside the theater to be first in line when the box office opened). Lottery entries will be accepted outside the Al Hirschfeld Theatre box office (302 West 45th Street) beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance, and names will be drawn at random, for a limited number of $37 tickets, two hours before curtain time. Official: KINKY BOOTS to Kick Off National Tour in 2014 from Las Vegas!

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig are proud to announce that Kinky Boots, the six-time Tony Award-winning musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), will open its national tour in September 2014 at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Las Vegas (361 Symphony Park Avenue).
