The 2019 season continues with the Broadway At Music Circus premiere of The Wiz, a multiple Tony Award-winning Best Musical retelling of L. Wizard of Oz lovers can rejoice, for The Wiz has arrived! Take the original, add soul and catchy dance numbers, pepper it with one-liners, and you have a version that makes the whole family happy. The Wiz was created to give a voice to the urban African-American and the song styles reflect that with nods to R&B, gospel, and jazz. The effort was so successful that, in its opening year, it won 7 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The Hangar Theatre Company continues its 45th Mainstage Summer Season with the regional premiere of the fabulous, sparkly, feel-good musical, Kinky Boots, directed and choreographed by Gerry Mcintyre. With music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper and book by Tony-winner Harvey Fierstein, this high-energy show runs from July 19 through August 3 with matinee and evening performances.

Casting has been confirmed for the 69th Broadway At Music Circus season, which begins June 11 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The season includes four Broadway At Music Circus premieres, Shrek the Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Wiz, and In the Heights.

The Ogunquit Playhouse 2019 season kicks off with Jersey Boys! The multi-Tony Award-winning, international sensation that performed to sold-out houses during its run in 2018, is back by popular demand May 15 through June 15. The cast that BroadwayWorld exclaimed to be "the closest you'll ever get to having seen Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons," also returns to the Ogunquit stage - Jonathan Mousset (Frankie Valli), Matt Magnusson (Tommy DeVito), Andy Christopher (Bob Gaudio), and Matthew Amira (Nick Massi).

Seven Performers enter, a Pianist is introduced. Set to the backdrop of the history of the Great White Way from past to present, and set to a gut punching-hilarious score based off of one of the greatest musicals to date Spamilton took off full speed ahead. From hilarious lyrics devised by the great minds behind Forbidden Broadway, and including a Lin-Manuel look a-like the audience experienced 90 minutes of unadulterated laughter, song, and dance.

The York Theatre Company presented a one-night only concert version of the newly re-imagined version of the beloved Broadway hit musical I Do! I Do!, with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt, based on the play The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog, directed by York Theatre favorite David Glenn Armstrong and with music direction by David Hancock Turner, accompanied on piano by Evans Haile.  This special one-of-a-kind evening kicked off an eighteen-month celebration of The York Theatre Company's landmark 50th Anniversary.

Remember Henry Albertson? Sure, you do. He's that ancient, arthritic, fragile/agile but eternally game actor who traveled by stage trunk from scene to scene throughout the longest-running musical of all time, 'The Fantasticks.'
