BroadwayHD has new titles for  October, including popular films and plays, along with anniversary concerts and exciting live theater experiences. 

Signature Theatre releases the sixth episode of The Signature Show, a free biweekly half-hour digital experience featuring performances by acclaimed artists, interviews, celebration of new musical voices and memories of Signature’s past and a glimpse into its future. This episode features an interview with recent Helen Hayes Award winners Jeff Gorti and Samantha M. Gershman from A Chorus Line, a discussion with writing team Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler with one of their songs performed by Crystal Mosser, a performance by Claybourne Elder and Brynn O’Malley, the stars of Signature Theatre’s 2015 production of Sunday in the Park with George, and concludes with Signature favorites performing Stephen Sondheim’s “Take Me to the World”. All episodes can be found on Signature Theatre’s YouTube Channel @sigtheatre (YouTube.com/sigtheatre).

It also starred Edward Watts, Andrew Samonsky, Roz Ryan and George Hearn.

BroadwayHD is honoring the lives and legacies of theater legends Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber, who are celebrating their 90th and 72nd birthdays on March 22nd, with a special playlist this March.

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell S. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the fifteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Angela Sclafani & Benjamin Velez. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Kate Baldwin on Monday, December 2nd from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

From November 21st-24th, Judson Theatre Company will be presenting a production of Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution at the Bradshaw Performing Arts Center. I recently had the great pleasure of interviewing actor Alan Campbell, who will be starring in the role of Sir Wilford Robarts.

Broadway leading man Jeff McCarthy received a personal message from Stephen Sondheim while in rehearsal for SWEENEY TODD, a co-production of UVU's Noorda Center for the Performing Arts and Utah Repertory Theater Company, running Oct. 24-Nov. 9, 2019.
