A newer development in the MT landscape is musicals at sea - with major shows such as Chicago, Hairspray, SIX, We Will Rock You and Burn the Floor all now travelling the world on luxurious cruise liners. Hundreds of performers take to the seas every year, and achieve their dream of performing in a hit musical. We speak to performer Kayla Radam, who has appeared in the musicals Grease and Chicago onboard cruise ships for Royal Caribbean.

Doreen Tipton has been crowned Best Pantomime Newcomer at the Great British Pantomime Awards for her role as the Lazy Empress Of China in Wolverhampton Grand Theatre's 2016/17 pantomime, Aladdin. The Great British Pantomime Awards was launched this year to celebrate and recognise outstanding achievements across the country for the 2016/17 pantomime season. Held at London's Theatre Café on Shaftesbury Avenue in the West End,Doreen Tipton and Grand Theatre Chief Executive Adrian Jackson accepted the award from host Christopher Biggins, who himself appeared in a production of Aladdin at the Grand Theatre in 2010/11.

The stars of this year's Wolverhampton Grand pantomime proved it's never too early to get into the panto spirit by launching this year's giant of a show, JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, which opens on Saturday 9 December 2017 starring returning favourites from last year's award-winning production of Aladdin; Lisa Riley, Doreen Tipton, Ian Adams and Adam C Booth, with The Bill star Graham Cole joining them as the evil Fleshcreep, musical theatre actress Sarah Vaughan is the Princess and Julie Paton plays The Harp.
