Brad Fraser suffered an impoverished and abusive childhood, living with his teenage parents in motel rooms and shacks on the side of the highway in Alberta and Northern British Columbia. He grew to be one of the most celebrated, and controversial, Canadian playwrights, his work produced to acclaim all over the world.

First Annual THE-WRITE-STUFF Playwriting Competition For Youth

New this season and in keeping with the company's mandate, Infinithéâtre Artistic Director Zach Fraser and Oren Safdie, Head of New Play Development, have announced the creation of The-Write-Stuff playwriting competition for youth, to be awarded annually to the best new play by an emerging writer aged 12-18. The winner will receive $500; submissions open April 1, 2021.

Sydney Theatre Company Announces Return to The Wharf

Sydney Theatre Company has officially reopened its premises at The Wharf, welcoming audiences back to its home on Sydney Harbour after closing in 2018 for renovations. The venue this week also became the first theatre in the state of NSW to play to 100 per cent audience capacity since the pandemic closed theatres in March 2020.
