The Chain Theatre will present a staged reading of the new play The Demand of Avarice by Matthew McLachlan on Friday, October 1 at 8pm. The Tank, in partnership with RealTime Interventions' postal plays festival Post Theatrical, will present Capricorn 29 by Alex Hare and Julia Izumi.

The Public Theater and WNYC Studios will debut the bilingual audio adaptation of Romeo y Julieta on Thursday, March 18. Featuring Lupita Nyong’o and Juan Castano as the star-crossed lovers, this world premiere production has been adapted by Saheem Ali and Ricardo Pérez González, based on the Spanish translation by Alfredo Michel Modenessi.

Sarah T. Schwab and Brian Long today announced the launch of their independent film production company Cardinal Flix (CFI). The New York-based company will produce low budget (under $2.5MM) independent films covering a range of genres, from dramas to psychological thrillers.
