Guest Blog: Shaun McKenna and Lin Coghlan on Adapting THE FORSYTE SAGA at the Park Theatre

John Galsworthy’s classic story The Forsyte Saga has been newly dramatised for the stage in two parts for the Park Theatre, bringing the unheard female voices to the fore for the first time. Spanning 40 years from the last gasp of the Victorian age to the beginning of the roaring 1920s, this is an epic tale of sex, money and power.

BWW Review: THE DURATION, Omnibus Theatre

Bruce Graham's new play reaches back 20 years to find an explanation (well, a partial explanation) for this new, unhappy, divided USA that has not gone away with the election of Joe Biden

Cast Announced For THE DURATION at Omnibus Theatre This September

For the United States, the collective grief generated by 9/11 had a profound impact on the nation's psyche. The Duration follows the story of a mother and daughter, both liberal American academics, who experienced a huge loss. It considers different responses to grief, in particular how this mother is radically changed by her bereavement – she buys a gun and heads for the hills.

BWW Review: THE NIGHT WATCH, Richmond Theatre

Where would theatre be without literary adaptations? From The Woman in Black to Matilda The Musical, some of the best shows originate from books. At first glance, Sarah Waters' fourth novel, the 2006 hit The Night Watch, is ripe for adaptation for the stage. A tale of love and desire set during and after World War Two, it follows the stories of four Londoners in reverse. They manage to survive The Blitz, but are forever-changed by their experiences.

BWW Review: LOSING VENICE, Orange Tree Theatre

In choosing Jo Clifford's comic satire Losing Venice, Artistic Director Paul Miller has served up another unique offering at Richmond's Orange Tree Theatre. Delightfully bonkers, idiosyncratic and totally eccentric; it is an entertaining, if not slightly confusing evening.

BWW Review: PUNTS, Theatre503

Like other young men, Jack, a 25-year-old with a learning disability, has needs and desires, and his parents don't want him to feel left out of significant life experiences, so they decide to hire a prostitute to arrange their son's first sexual encounter. Julia will slip into the cracks of a marriage on the verge of an invisible crisis, and in the end she will do a lot more than just help Jack.

Punts is a hilarious and moving new play by Sarah Page about a young man's sexual awakening and its effect on those who orchestrated it. Drawn from the playwright's interviews with sex workers, Punts - produced by Kuleshov Theatre (BU21, Cans) - explores love in all its complex and contradictory forms.
