Abingdon Theatre Company recently presented Broadway on the Bowery, a curated series of downtown cabaret, directed by Abingdon Theatre Company Artistic Director Chad Austin, to be held monthly at the intimate entertainment venue Duane Park (308 Bowery - between Bleecker & Houston Streets). The inaugural event was held on Tuesday, March 26th at 7:00pm.

The New Group and Vineyard Theatre just celebrated opening night of Jeremy O. Harris' 'Daddy,' with Alan Cumming, Tommy Dorfman, Fran Jaye, Kahyun Kim, Hari Nef, Ronald Peet and Charlayne Woodard, in a world premiere production directed by Danya Taymor. 

Portland Center Stage at The Armory's 2018-2019 season launches with the Tony Award-winning musical The Color Purple, adapted from Alice Walker's classic novel about the sisterhood, resilience and self-empowerment found in a community of black women living in rural Georgia in the early 20th century. The Color Purple begins preview performances on September 15, opens on September 21, and runs through October 28 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Timothy Douglas directs the production, joined by music director Darius Smith, who will bring the Grammy Award-winning score to life.

Memphis' original Broadway cast members Tony nominee Chad Kimball (Come From Away), Cass Morgan (The Bridges of Madison County), and J. Bernard Calloway (All The Way) came together for 54 SINGS MEMPHIS, a one night only concert at Feinstein's/54 Below last night, February 4th.

Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RENT, created by Adelphi graduate Jonathan Larson ('82), has become a pop culture phenomenon. The Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (PAC) opened its doors in the fall of 2008 with the first college production of this beloved musical. What began as a 1970s rock opera concept album became a global stage phenomenon that captured seven Tony Award nominations and countless awards overseas in its 40-plus years. Jesus Christ Superstar, the beloved rock opera that explores the story and internal struggles of the last seven days of the greatest idol in history - Jesus - is the 2016-17 Broadway Series finale, now through May 28, 2017 at the Paramount Theatre, 23 E.
