Si tratta della prima volta di una donna italiana alla presidenza dell'associazione sin dalla sua fondazione nel 2002. Anna Maria Meo era entrata a far parte del board di Opera Europa alla fine del 2018 ed era stata nominata Vice Presidente nel 2019.
