Art enthusiasts gathered last night (May 22) at Montalvo Arts Center for an exclusive members-only unveiling of its 2019-2020 Carriage House Theatre Concert Series line-up. The historic Silicon Valley venue announced a thrilling roster of performers from Meow Meow to The Second City, from Pablo Cruise to Loudon Wainwright III, tributes to The Beatles, Cream, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and an appearance by NPR's hit radio show and podcast "Selected Shorts." The season launches in October, offering a stellar line-up of theatre, comedy, magic, Grammy Award nominees/winners performing jazz, bluegrass, pop, rock, classical, new age, folk, Hawaiian music, and more. Warner Chappell Music (WCM) today announced that it has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Australian multi-hyphenate Eddie Perfect. The songwriter's work recently made its Broadway debut in two highly anticipated musicals: King Kong and Beetlejuice. King Kong, based on the classic 1933 film, opened at the Broadway Theatre in October of 2018, and Beetlejuice, based on the 1988 Tim Burton flick, recently opened at the Winter Garden Theatre.

Central Oregon's 7th Annual Newberry Event Music and Arts Festival to Defeat MS is a 3-day outdoor summer multi-genre music festival well-known as a good time for a good cause. July 26-28, 2019, the 501c3 charity benefits the Oregon National Multiple Sclerosis Society. This year, the festival brings national touring acts from Sydney, Australia, Maui, Montana, Idaho, and Brooklyn, N.Y. as well as performers from Central Oregon, Eugene and Southern Oregon. Chris Barber OBE is one of the last British Jazz legends around and an icon of traditional jazz in the United Kingdom. This season he starts celebrating his 65th Anniversary as leader of his band on a full-time professional basis and 70th Anniversary on starting his musical career. He will be performing together with The Big Chris Barber Band at the Pavilion Theatre on Friday the 28 June at 7:30pm.

Currently in the midst of the North American leg of her You and I World Tour, Swedish artist LEON has released a new EP today called 'Live From The Village.' A beautiful 3-track acoustic collection of songs from her debut self-titled album, recorded live at the legendary Los Angeles recording studio TheVillage.

The San Francisco Early Music Society (SFEMS) brings its 2018-19 concert season to a close next month with a special concert by acclaimed countertenor Iestyn Davies joined by the brilliant young lutenist Thomas Dunford, dubbed the Eric Clapton of the lute (BBC Music Magazine). Together they will perform songs by Dowland, Purcell and Handel. This concert will take place at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 19, at First Congregational Church in Berkeley. Ferris & Sylvester have released their brand new single 'Flying Visit'. The soulful love song finds the pair baring their hearts and pleading for the other to stay through their raw vocal delivery. In what would have been the 50th year of Rory Gallagher's recording career, UMC are pleased to announce the release of 'BLUES' on Friday 31st May. From the vaults of the Gallagher estate's tape archive comes this collection of rare and unreleased recordings of Rory playing his favourite blues material. Ranging from never heard before tracks to special guest sessions with legendary blues artists (Muddy Waters / Albert King) and lost radio sessions, this album uncovers Rory's love of the blues throughout his solo career from 1971 right through to 1994.
