Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces the lineup of productions for its 2014/15 Season. The year will include world-premiere plays and musicals that have been developed at the theater, including Your Blues Ain't Sweet Like Mine, a new play written and directed by Tony Award-winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson; and Be More Chill, a musical by Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz, adapted from the novel by Ned Vizzini and directed by Scott Ellis. The season will also include a range of world masterpieces and American classics, and work for audiences ages three and up

2014 marks a phenomenal fifty years since Roald Dahl's best-loved tale, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, was first published. The story of Charlie Bucket, the five Golden Tickets, the devilish Oompa-Loompas and the amazing Mr. Willy Wonka has become firmly embedded in our culture, having (twice) been reimagined for the cinema, as an opera and, in 2013, as a hit London musical. Conservative estimates suggest the original book has sold over 20 million copies worldwide; it is currently available in 55 languages.

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College (BCBC) continues its 2013-14 Target Storybook Series with Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favourites on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 2pm. All tickets are $7 and can be purchased by phone at 718-951-4500 (Tues-Sat, 1pm-6pm), or online at BrooklynCenterOnline.org. Recommended for ages four and up, this production replaces the previously announced A Brown Bear, a Moon, and a Caterpillar: Treasured Stories by Eric Carle in Brooklyn Center's schedule.

Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia will visit the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21 with three performances of their signature production, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favourites. The engagement includes two sold-out school performances at 10:30am on February 20 and 21, and a public performance at 6:30pm on Thursday, February 20. This one-hour production is recommended for ages three through second grade, and anyone who loves Eric Carle stories. The performance brings three of Carle's beloved stories to life through the magic of black light and fanciful puppets. The production was adapted, designed, and directed by Jim Morrow, with music by Steven Naylor and narration by Gordon Pinsent.
