Jean Ryden unveils a new single, “Parallel Universe,” alongside a video directed by Angela Ricciardi and Silken Weinberg (Ethel Cain, Albert Hammond Jr) with Jean Ryden. The track, written and produced by Jean, is a vivid personal statement that blends her past and present through a dreamy piano arrangement and haunting lyrics.

Year Away will be out via Johansing’s label Nightbloom Records and mixed by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Cat Power). It traverses uncharted emotional landscapes brought upon by intense loss and isolation in early 2020. A longtime touring member of Hand Habits and Fruit Bats, and a crucial collaborator in the flourishing Los Angeles folk scene.

Jenny Owen Youngs releases her second single “Knife Went In” from her forthcoming highly-anticipated fourth studio album Avalanche. “Knife Went In” is an exploration of vulnerability in early stages of relationships and finding common ground in shared wounds, with Youngs’ gentle voice gliding smoothly over looping nylon-stringed guitar.

Anna Tivel recently announced Outsiders (Live in a Living Room). The 12-track set sees Tivel in a duo arrangement with friend Jon Neufeld, both on acoustic guitar, creating intimate renditions of all eleven songs from her most celebrated record yet, as well as B-side single 'American Novella.' Plus, check out tour dates!

Rising artist, songwriter and producer Jean Ryden unveils her cinematic debut single, “Chlorine.' The track, self-written and co-produced, uses imagistic lyrics and a string-laden arrangement to examine grief and Ryden’s longing for alternate timelines to take hold.

Alongside the album announcement,  Youngs has released the title track “Avalanche” with a stunning visualizer she curated of found archival footage of, fittingly, avalanches. Shakey Graves is set to head out on an extensive North American tour this fall kicking off September 21 in Phoenix with further stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston and more. In celebration, Shakey Graves is releasing a two song EP which includes “Ready or Not,” a duet with rising star Sierra Ferrell, and an intimate demo of the song.

Young rising French singer Ethel has released the video for her ethereal single “Andromeda.” The song which was released last year garnered fans in the critic and film world upon release and has now made its way to its television debut last night in the series premiere episode of the controversial HBO drama, The Idol.

Santa Chiara has signed to the indie label, Kill Rock Stars. Santa Chiara is the solo project of Italian musician, Chiara D’Anzieri, who moved to the United States in January 2020. Santa Chiara plays most of the instruments on “Peach Tree” herself, with guests Ron Gallo, Dominic Billett (Courtney Marie Andrews, Julia Jacklin, Faye Webster).

Originally released on the same date in 1998, RUFUS WAINWRIGHT - 25th Anniversary Edition includes the original 12 tracks remastered from the original tapes plus three never-before-released songs from the album sessions and assorted tracks previously only available on his limited 13-disc boxset, House of Rufus.

But the trio’s contemporaries are bands suchs as Palberta, Spirit of the Beehive, and Palehound, artists who don’t shy from unusual time signatures, careening feedback, and harmonies.

Tying together a lifelong love of Brian Wilson and Elliott Smith, an affection for aughts indie units like Grizzly Bear and Bon Iver, and years of experience as a horn player, improviser, and arranger, Sifting Through The Goo, Reaching For The Candlelight is a sonic stew of finger-picked guitar, shimmering synths, vocal harmony and bold brass.

From the age of nine, Elliott has been the host of Little Punk People, a music interview show that boasts 93 thousand subscribers on YouTube in which he’s chatted with the likes of James Hetfield of Metallica (viewed 1.7 million times), J Mascis, Ice-T, Jay Weinberg of Slipknot and many more.

How It Ends followed a string of standout 2021 releases including the Jockeys of Love EP, and “Beach Coma,” a Gabe Wax-produced single. The duo, who also work with Jay Som’s Melina Duterte on production and recording work, mixed the track alongside Brandon Shoop, while Grammy-nominated Joe Lambert mastered.
