Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) has announced recording artists, Broadway veterans, and 'American Idol' finalists Constantine Maroulis and Diana DeGarmo will lead the cast of their upcoming production of Jekyll & Hyde (September 25 - October7), under the direction of Broadway's original Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, Robert Cuccioli.

Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) today announces the new plays that will comprise its 37th season. The line-up includes The Tragic Ecstasy of Girlhood by Kira Rockwell, Winter People by Laura Neill, Wynwood by Alexis Scheer and Dead House by Beirut Balutis.

Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival 2018 presents the World Premiere of 'MOVING  BODIES'

National New Play Network (NNPN), the country's alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, has added three new Core Members: Silk Road Rising (Chicago), Company One (Boston), and City Theatre Company (Pittsburgh). As of the date of this release, NNPN has 114 Members Theaters, comprised of 32 Cores and 82 Associates.

Now entering its 56th season, the New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) is launching a Musical Theater Composition (MTC) program, to be led by newly-appointed director Anna K. Jacobs. In a partnership with the Harlem School of the Arts, this new program aims to diversify the world of musical theater by creating opportunities for young composers to have their compositions workshopped and performed by both peers and professionals.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the recent Off-Broadway hit, 'The Understudy,' a backstage comedy about a Hollywood action star rehearsing for a role on Broadway amid tensions with his understudy.  The cast includes Eric Bryant, Connecticut Critics Circle Award winner; Brett Dalton of ABC's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'; and Andrea Syglowski, award-winning actress. Running August 14 through September 1, the comedy is written by Theresa Rebeck, creator of NBC's show business drama, 'Smash,' and directed by David Kennedy, Westport Country Playhouse associate artistic director.

Greater Boston Stage Company opens its 19th Season with Being Earnest, Paul Gordon and Jay Gruksa's irrepressible musical interpretation of Oscar Wilde's classic, The Importance of Being Earnest. Directed and choreographed by Elliot Norton and IRNE Award-winner Ilyse Robbins, performances run September 13 - October 7, 2018. The Press Opening is Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 3:00pm.

Moonbox Productions, winner of numerous IRNE and Elliot Norton Awards, is thrilled to announce its theatrical line up for the 2018-2019 season.  In November, Moonbox kicks-off its season with LOST AT SEA, a new repertory production of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and Donald Margulies' Shipwrecked! Shakespeare & Company presents the critically-acclaimed drama, Mothers and Sons by Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally, directed by James Warwick. Featuring Elliot Norton Award winner Annette Miller (4000 Miles, Golda's Balcony), performances run in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre August 16 - September 9.

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce EVITA begins July 31 with a "Pay What You Can" performance with a limited amount of tickets available at the box office beginning at 11 am. The play will run through August 26. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced final casting for A Doll's House, Part 2, written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters, which begins previews on Thursday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, October 21. Enter Evan, an impressionable new employee/high school student intrigued by the pair's unconventional charm. While the two impart their 'wisdom' on their new, young friend, life's great pleasures like literature and music are savored along with its bitter brew.
