Centastage, Boston's launchpad for new theatrical works by New England playwrights, presents Noir Hamlet, a new full-length play in one act, from June 14 through 30 at the Plaza Black Box Theatre at Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street, Boston. Noir Hamlet is written by local playwright John Minigan and directed by Joe Antoun. The production is supported by The Bob Jolly Charitable Trust.
Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Presents Free Shakespeare On The Common

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler, presents its 23rd season of "Free Shakespeare on the Common:" William Shakespeare's drama Richard III, directed by Steven Maler and starring Faran Tahir. Performances are free of charge, and will take place on the Boston Common, near the Parkman Bandstand.

Arianna Rosario to Lead Bay Street Theater's EVITA

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the full cast and creative team for EVITA, a revival of the revolutionary musical with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, directed by Will Pomerantz and choreographed by Marcos Santana. The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA) celebrated more than two dozen outstanding actors, directors, designers, and ensembles at The 36th Annual Elliot Norton Awards ceremony at the Huntington Avenue Theatre last night. The coveted Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence was presented to Leigh Barrett, Robert J. Eagle received a Special Citation in honor of his 50 years at Reagle Music Theatre, and the Guest of Honor Award went to internet sensation Randy Rainbow.

A.R.T. Receives $900,000 From Barr Foundation's New ArtsAmplified Initiative

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Producer Diane Borger, is pleased to announce that it has received a 3-year grant of $900,000 from the Barr Foundation. The Foundation's award from its new ArtsAmplified initiative will support A.R.T.'s commissioning and development of new work, activities central to its role as a vital public institution operating from its two theaters in Harvard Square and throughout Greater Boston. The deepening of staff capacity, expansion of local partnerships, and preparation of world premiere productions will also be supported by the grant.
