Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum will present Waiting in the Wings, a vibrant, funny, humane comedy by Noël Coward. Waiting in the Wings will run in rotation every weekend with Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Treasure Island.

Treasure Island, the quintessential coming-of-age adventure story by Robert Louis Stevenson, is coming to the outdoor stage at Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum.

Cross the bridge from Topanga Canyon Boulevard to Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum and immerse yourself in live outdoor theater. Kicking off the summer repertory season are Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

This summer, Theatricum will present five mainstage plays in repertory, along with a rich slate of family-friendly and music-centered satellite events. Arrive early to explore the spectacular grounds.

Strife, a rarely produced play by Nobel Prize-winning writer and social activist John Galsworthy explores the complexities of labor relations, a theme that resonated with both Galsworthy and the Geer family of actors and theater directors. Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum has transformed its uniquely beautiful outdoor amphitheater into the imaginary isle of Neverland for a magical production of Wendy’s Peter Pan. Theatricum artistic director Ellen Geer directs her “retelling” of the 1904 play by J.M. Barrie, with performances running June 22 through October 4.

Ellen Geer’s new compilation of Shakespeare's best-known history plays does nothing to address the misogynistic, xenophobic views that have led to Margaret of Anjou’s historical presentation (or any other woman’s) as a stereotypical villain. But in other ways, it succeeds in illuminating Margaret as what she actually was - a force to be reckoned with.
