Burbank's Conundrum Theatre Company presents the hilarious, satirical musical Urinetown.

Big Little Theater Company in association with the Los Angeles LGBT Center has announced its world premiere production of Menstruation: A Period Piece by Miranda Rose Hall. Produced by Camille Jenkins and under the direction of Katie Lindsay with music by Tova Katz, previews begin on March 16 with opening set for Friday, March 24, at 8pm.

A young peasant woman becomes a warrior who saves her entire kingdom in a new, family-friendly musical inspired by an Armenian fairy tale. Imagine Theatre presents the world premiere of Warrior Queen Anahit the Brave, written and directed by Armina LaManna and featuring original music by Shahen Hagobian.

Distinguished artists from across the nation's entertainment industry came together at The Bourbon Room in Hollywood for The 24 Hour Musicals, the intensive theatrical endeavor where stars from Broadway, film and TV write, compose, rehearse and perform four original musicals within 24 hours. Now, the show premieres tonight on Stellar at 5:30 PT/8:30 ET and will be available through June.

Nominees for the inaugural OC Theatre Awards were announced on Saturday, January 22, 2022 during OC Theatre Guild’s annual membership meeting. The awards ceremony has been scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the outdoor amphitheater of the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton.

This was a first, where uneducated street kids stood up to the big suits and won. In 1992 Disney created the movie Newsies that went on to become a popular hit. In 2012 Harvey Fierstein, Alan Menken and Jack Feldman came to Broadway with a musical show they created based on the film. Newsies is currently onstage at Candlelight Pavilion. Stageworks Theatre announces Bonnie and Clyde, as its sixth show this season. Directed by Michael Montgomery, the musical will open April 20 and close May 13. With music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyl and Hyde, Civil War), lyrics by Don Black (Sunset Boulevard, Dracula), and book by Ivan Menchell, the show is destined to impress.

Obsidian Theater in association with Standing Room Only Productions is excited to bring the musical comedy, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, to Houston audiences. This hilarious whodunit will run September 28-October 14 at Obsidian Theater. With book, music and lyrics by Rupert Holmes, this show within a show is based on the final unfinished novel of the same name by Charles Dickens, who left his story unfinished when he passed away in 1870. Due to the novel being incomplete, the identity of the murderer, or the question of Drood's ultimate fate, was never revealed.
