VISITING MR. GREEN Comes to NCPA

22 years after its NYC debut starring Eli Wallach, Visiting Mr. Green, a play by American author Jeff Baron, will open 13th December for three performances at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai. This comedy-drama is having an unusual level of international success, with more than 500 productions in 24 languages. India will be the 50th country for Visiting Mr. Green.

Bob Carter's Actors' Rep Presents VISITING MR. GREEN By Jeff Baron

Today, most of us are accepting of one another without question about our differences. We'd like to not remember a time when it took convincing for people to even realize they may be more similar than they thought by outside judgment and stubbornness. Visiting Mr. Green addresses this topic in a straight forward way with characters that have the typical behaviors you'd assume they would have. Mr. Green, a grouchy New Yorker in his 80's, has just suffered the death of his wife. This event only intensifies his testy attitude.

Luna Stage Presents World Premiere Of MRS. STERN WANDERS THE PRUSSIAN STATE LIBRARY

Luna Stage will launch the 2019 MainStage Season with the World Premiere of Jenny Lyn Bader's Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library, directed by Ari Laura Kreith. Set in Nazi Germany, this suspenseful drama explores the relationship between Hannah Arendt and the young prison guard who arrests and interrogates her.

The Players Presents A Pipe Night Honoring Joe Iconis On Monday

The Players announces its next Pipe Night, honoring Tony Award-nominated composer and writer Joe Iconis (Be More Chill). A favorite Players tradition that has celebrated significant cultural figures for over a century, the Pipe Night for Mr. Iconis will be held on Monday, September 9th starting at 6:30 pm at The Players, located at 16 Gramercy Park South. 

Broadway Press Agent Bob Ullman Passes Away at 97

Robert ('Bob') Ullman (left), the legendary theatre press agent, whose career included Ethel Merman and Mary Martin: Together on Broadway, A Chorus Line (from workshop to Public Theater to Broadway), Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in The Visit, Lauren Bacall in Cactus Flower, The Dining Room, Driving Miss Daisy, Sunday in the Park with George, and over 150 additional Broadway and off-Broadway plays and musicals, died on July 31, 2019 in Bayshore, Long Island, New York. He was 97. The cause of death was cardiac arrest. Bob's death was announced by Rev. Joshua Ellis, a long-time Ullman friend, a former Broadway press agent, and now, an Interspiritual minister.

In defiance of Russia's 2013 law against gay 'propaganda', the Chekhov International Theatre Festival will present three performances of Jeff Baron's play Visiting Mr. Green in Moscow, July 1-3, 2019.

Gold Coast Arts Center's Caroline Sorokoff Named Among Premier Businesswomen Of Long Island

Long Island's leaders in business and the nonprofit field gathered recently for the Premier Business Women of Long Island Awards Gala, held at the Heritage Club at Bethpage. Among the honorees included Caroline Sorokoff, who is the Associate Director of the Great Neck-based Gold Coast Arts Center and the Director of the Gold International Film Festival. The awards program, sponsored by RichnerLive, a division of Richner Communications, honored 48 business women for excellence in their fields and contributions to their communities.

Gold Coast Int'l. Film Fest Offers Free Screening Of Oscar-Nominated Short Films To Affected Federal Workers

The Gold Coast International Film Festival is offering a respite for federal workers impacted by the prolonged partial government shutdown; free screenings of Oscar-nominated short films in advance of this year's Academy Awards. The screenings, which are open to the general public, will take place on Sunday, February 10 at 6 p.m. in Port Washington, and Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Great Neck. A select number of tickets will be set aside at each screening for the government workers.
