TheaterWorks Hartford, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero, has announced details for its upcoming 2022–2023 season which is filled with great music, captivating stories, and world-class writing.

TheaterWorks Hartford has announced details for its upcoming 2021–2022 season which marks a return to in-person events alongside a commitment to online streaming. In fact, all four productions of its 36th season, plus original digital work, will be available to audiences online.

In this summer's Ice Factory Festival Claudia Acosta is directing A Grave is Given Supper, with poems by Mike Soto, featuring Elena Hurst and in partnership with Teatro Dallas. The show runs July 28 - 31.

Who doesn't pause to see if George Bailey will save the savings and loan, if Ralphie will actually get his Red Ryder BB Gun, or if Rudolph will finally prove his red nose can do great things. No matter how many viewings, there is something about the characters of these beloved Christmas programs that feels familiar and right. But have you ever wondered what happened to these larger than life characters after their time in the red and green spotlight? These are the questions that TheaterWorks in Hartford hilariously tackles in CHRISTMAS ON THE ROCKS.

THE LOVE BOAT's favorite bartender, TED LANGE is joining the cast of Connecticut's run away holiday hit CHRISTMAS ON THE ROCKS. Running December 1 through December 23rd, this is the 7th year TheaterWorks has staged the production to an ever-growing audience.

Latinx playwrights residing in the United States, its territories or Mexico are encouraged to submit scripts for Arizona Theatre Company's (Sean Daniels, Artistic Director; Billy Russo, Managing Director) 2020 National Latinx Playwriting Award. Deadline is Nov. 1, 2019.

HartBeat Ensemble announces the world premiere of Pegao, a family drama set in Puerto Rico in the 1970s. The new work, built a round of high-stakes game of dominos, is written by Ensemble member Cin Martinez with dramaturgy by acclaimed playwright Edwin Sanchez and is directed by Ensemble member Hannah Simms. The cast for Pegao includes Yohanna Florentino, Clara Tristan, Joel Oramas, and Angelina Adam. Performances run May 30 through June 9, 2019 at HartBeat Ensemble's Carriage House Theatre (360 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT). Pegao will be presented in Spanish and Spanglish with English captioning. The Saturday performances will be presented without English captions. Tickets are $25; $20 for students, seniors, and Greater Hartford Arts Councils' Let's Go cardholders. No one is turned away due to lack of funds. David R. Jimenez, President of the Board of Directors of Hartford Stage, announces that OBIE Award-winning director Melia Bensussen has been named the next Artistic Director of the Tony Award-winning theatre. She will assume the role in June.

Queer as Folk and Broadway star Randy Harrison is the newest cast member to join Connecticut's run away holiday hit Christmas on the Rocks. Running now through December 23rd, this is the 6th year TheaterWorks has staged the production to an ever-growing audience. Seats for the production, which also feature Jenn Harris (Gayby, New York Is Dead), and Tom Bloom (Broadway's Cyrano, Henry IV) are selling fast.
