Vineyard Theatre has announced the company’s upcoming 40th Anniversary Season which will include three world-premiere productions. Kicking off the season will be David Cale’s Sandra, which reunites Cale and director Leigh Silverman following the acclaimed Harry Clarke, which premiered at the Vineyard in 2017.

 Emmy, Grammy, and Six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald will return to Broadway this season starring in Ohio State Murders by Adrienne Kennedy, directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon  (Fences, A Soldier’s Play).

Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre and off the WALL productions in Pittsburgh present the World Premiere of WHAT KIND OF WOMAN by Abbe Tanenbaum.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen actor Jered Barclay has died at age 91. Barclay may be best known for his television and voiceover work, but he got his start in showbusiness at age 3, performing in vaudeville shows.

Custom Made Theatre Co.'s Board of Directors announced that co-founder Brian Katz will retire from his day-to-day position in mid-August after serving for twenty-three years, first as Artistic Director since their formation, and then as Executive Artistic Director since 2019. He will remain the President of the Board of Directors for the company.

Tony award-winning Broadway producer Hunter Arnold will produce ORIGINAL TRU via his company TBD Productions, alongside Adam Bucci, Cat Del Re, Jessy Greer and Adam Huss. The Edlavitch DCJCC has announced that Adam Immerwahr, Theater J’s Artistic Director since December 2015, will be departing in July to be the Artistic Director of Village Theatre in Issaquah, WA.

Love and revolution are at the center of the world premiere of acclaimed Shay Youngblood’s play, Square Blues, about three generations of a southern Black family who share a passion for activism, art, and following your heart. Square Blues will make its premiere on the Horizon stage from July 22 – August 21 (Press Opening July 29).

Mark's musical, STAND BY YOUR MAN, The Tammy Wynette Story was created for Nashville's Ryman Theater.

PRIMARY STAGES announced casting for On That Day in Amsterdam by Clarence Coo (People Sitting in Darkness) and directed by Zi Alikhan (The Boy Who Danced on Air). On That Day in Amsterdam will begin previews at 59E59’s Theater A on July 23, 2022, with opening night set for August 11 for a limited run through September 4, 2022.
