signature Theatre’s SigSpace will present the first-ever installation from Quiara Alegría Hudes and Sean Ortiz’s Emancipated Stories project, designed by Yazmany Arboleda with Emmanuel Oni and featuring letter-writing sessions and pop-up performances produced in collaboration with The Fortune Society.

WHAT I FIRST DESIRED, written by playwright and actor Tyler Martin and directed by Enrique Cavazos, now moves onto a highly anticipated second round of performances this July giving audiences an opportunity to see an extended version of the one-act. WHAT I FIRST DESIRED will return with performances July 1, 6, 8, & 9 @ 7PM ET.

Madison Lyric Stage will present Stephen Schwartz’s musical comedy Pippin, July 21-31.  The production will be presented inside MLS’s brand-new tent on the grounds of Madison’s Deacon John Grave House and will have a big-top carnival theme.  

Tony Award winner Santino Fontana (Tootsie) will star in the new play The Pianist as Szpilman in a by-invitation only development reading Thursday June 23 in NYC. The Pianist features an original score by acclaimed Dutch concert pianist Iris Hond.

Vineyard Theatre has announced that Lessons in Survival: 1971 will resume performances on Wednesday, June 15 with Reggie D. White temporarily stepping into the role of James Baldwin. White is a co-conceiver of the show as one of the members of The Commissary and the Vineyard Theatre's 2022-2023 Colman Domingo Award recipient. 

Due to positive COVID test results within the company, Vineyard Theatre has cancelled performances of Lessons in Survival: 1971 through Sunday, June 12. Ticket holders for impacted performances (June 10-12) will be contacted by phone and email regarding rebooking and next steps.

The full season will feature B.R.O.K.E.N code B.I.R.D switching, a world premiere play and an award recipient of the GRANTS FOR ARTS PROJECTS from the National Endowment for the Arts; Once, a Tony Award-winning musical; Songs For a New World, the first musical by a Tony Award winner; Dracula, a classic gothic tale of horrors; and Edward Albee's Seascape, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play. 

At the request of Dallas Fire Rescue, Theatre Three will be cancelling preview performances of “Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” this weekend and the Monday night performance (June 9-June 13).

Manhattan Theatre Club’s Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive was filmed last week by the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive of New York Public Library. The production is now in its final week of performances and will end its extended run on Sunday, June 12 at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Signature Theatre’s SigSpace will reteam this June with Theatre For One to present six one-on-one, five-to-six minute theater experiences. Titled Déjà Vu (referencing a featured work by the same name), this iteration of Theatre For One revisits five selected works from the visionary and unconventional organization.

Second Stage Theater has announced two new productions for its upcoming 2022-23 Season. Tony Award-nominee Bess Wohl will return to the Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street) this Fall with the New York premiere of CAMP SIEGFRIED. Spring 2023 will see the Broadway premiere of Larissa FastHorse's THE THANKSGIVING PLAY,

Theatre NOVA, Ann Arbor’s resident nonprofit professional theatre, continues in-person productions with “Relativity” by Mark St. Germain, which runs May 27 through June 19, 2022.
