Tonight, the 88th annual Academy Awards will be broadcast on ABC at 8:30 p.m.ET/5:30 p.m.PT live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Beginning at 7:00pm, BroadwayWorld will have all of your live, theatre-centric Oscar. It's been a busy week for Patti Murin. On Monday, it was announced that the erstwhile Lysistrata Jones would be joining the cast of the upcoming Broadway show NERDS THE MUSICAL. If the term “up-and-coming actor” needed a poster child, last year I would have said Eddie Redmayne would be a perfect match, owing to his Oscar win as Stephen Hawking in the acclaimed film THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING. Now, I would say the 34-year old British actor has moved from the up-and-coming category into the column of established film actors. This Oscar season, Redmayne will once again face the red carpet and the possibility of leading actor Academy Award for his role in THE DANISH GIRL as the artist Einar who faces a personal conflict and the expectations of society when he transitions to Lily in the early 20th century.

Southwark Playhouse today announces the full cast for the UK premiere of JC Lee's LUCE, which runs March 9 to April 2. Joining Mel Geidroyc are Natasha Gordon, Martins Imhangbe, Elizabeth Tan and Nigel Whitmey. Natasha Gordon replaces Josette Simon who has had to withdraw from the production for personal reasons. Simon Dormandy, whose recent productions include his own stage adaptation of iconic film The Hudsucker Proxy, will direct, and his Hudsucker collaborator Dick Bird designs.

Oscar® winners Morgan Freeman and John Legend have been added to the list of presenters, along with J.J. Abrams, Sacha Baron Cohen and Henry Cavill, for the 88th Oscars® telecast.

OSCARS producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin announced today a third slate of presenters for the 88th OSCARS telecast. Among the new names are stage and screen star -- and winner last year for THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING -- Eddie Redmayne, alongside theatre vet Cate Blanchett, INTO THE WOODS' Emily Blunt, THE WIZ LIVE's Common, comedian Louis C.K. and more.

Josette Simon joins the previously announced Mel Giedroyc to lead the cast of the UK premiere of JC Lee's play LUCE, which will run at London's Southwark Playhouse from 9 March to 2 April 2016, with a Press Night on Friday 11 March 2016.

On Monday, February 8, The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is gathering more than 150 Oscar nominees to honor all of the 88th Academy Awards contenders at its annual Oscars Nominees Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Winners of the 22nd ANNUAL SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS were revealed tonight, Saturday, January 30th (beginning at 8PM) on a simulcast airing live on TNT and TBS.

Broadway veterans and theater stars abounded in this year's esteemed list of nominations. In film, the category of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Lead Role included Bryan Cranston for TRUMBO, Michael Fassbender for STEVE JOBS and Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne for THE DANISH GIRL.

Balloting for this year's Actor® recipients will close at noon tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 29 (PT). The results will be tallied by Integrity Voting Systems, the SAG Awards' official teller, and sealed until the envelopes are opened onstage by the presenters at the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 30.
