East West Players, the nation's largest producer of Asian American theatrical works, along with EWP Producing Artistic Director Snehal Desai, will be honored by city leaders on Wednesday, June 30th at 3:30pm at a LA CityView Channel 35 program, broadcast live as part of the virtual celebrations for the annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Heritage Month, commonly known as “Pride Month,” in the City of Los Angeles.

The Lyric Stage Company of Boston has announced its continuation of the Walking Plays audio series titled, The Greenway Series.

East West Players (EWP), the largest producer of Asian American theatrical works, is honored to announce that it is the recipient of a multi-million dollar gift from billionaire philanthropist Mackenzie Scott. The amount is part of a round of giving by Scott benefitting equity-oriented organizations. Sandra Tsing Loh streams her 2015 comedic hit THE BITCH IS BACK for The Broad Stage, beginning June 23, 2021. This streaming performance of THE BITCH IS BACK recorded live will be complemented with added live talkbacks featuring special guests Marlo Thomas, Caroline Aaron, Marilu Henner, Melanie Mayron and JoBeth Williams. NYSAF returns July 17-August 1 with in-person programming in Poughkeepsie for their 2021 Summer Season.  In partnership with Vassar College, Marist College, and Revel 32 °, NYSAF will serve the needs of theater and film artists today, bringing them safely together in community to generate new stories and reconnect with one another and audiences.

The Award-Winning Chalk Repertory Theatre with funding from L.A. City's Department of Cultural Affairs announces the launch of its new audio play series Chalk Lines. Five short plays using immersive audio storytelling will bring to life unsung landmarks in Los Angeles City Council districts 8, 9, and 10 including the Metro Expo Line, Leimert Park, Historic West Adams, and Exposition Park.

Chalk Repertory Theatre launches their new audio play series CHALK LINES June 19, 2021. The series of five short plays can be accessed for free either to be experienced online or on location at each site with a mobile device. Chalk Rep’s artistic producing director Jennifer Chang directs the cast of Xan Churchwell, Gregg Daniel, Tonatiuh Elizarraraz, Veralyn Jones, Emily Kuroda and Emily Stout.

As part of their Virtual 55th Anniversary Season, East West Players will be streaming Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre (vAct)’s 1 HOUR PHOTO beginning June 12, 2021. Written and performed by writer/performer/storyteller Tetsuro Shigematsu, 1 HOUR PHOTO is directed by Richard Wolfe and will available online through June 20,2021.

New Dramatists, an artistic home and developmental laboratory for professional playwrights, is proud to announce two new board members, Sharon Bridgforth and Qui Nguyen. Both Bridgforth and Nguyen are playwrights and alumni of New Dramatists, where each held a seven-year residency.

East West Players (EWP), the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, has announced that it is postponing its upcoming production of Lavina Jadhwani's The Sitayana (Or “How to Make an Exit”), originally scheduled May 14-June 6th.  The production, presented  in partnership with San Francisco's EnActe Arts and New York City's Hypokrit Productions, will be rescheduled for this fall. 

The Los Angeles-based East West Players, the nation's first professional Asian American theatre organization, is teaming up with musician AJ Rafael and production company iStage Entertainment for Crazy Talented Asians, JR Edition. The event is proudly sponsored by WB Pictures.
