As New York celebrates Tony Award-nominated actress & singer Melissa Errico's acclaimed newly released albumSondheim Sublime, iconic NYC restaurant Sardi's honored her last week with the unveiling of her Sardi's Caricature, a longstanding Broadway tradition.

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces the director and full cast for the Philadelphia premiere of Marsha Norman and Jason Robert Brown's sweeping musical version of the best-selling novel, The Bridges of Madison County. The production is the second of the inaugural season under Producing Artistic Director Paige Price. For Bridges, Price has tapped Mark Martino to direct a cast rich with local theatre stars and Barrymore Award-winners, alongside actors with notable national and Broadway credits. The cast is led by Philadelphia actress Sarah Gliko and PA Native and Broadway actor Gregg Goodbrod.  Recent Barrymore Award winner Amanda Morton (Passing Strange, Wilma Theater) will serve as the Music Director. The Bridges of Madison County runs February 8-March 3, 2019 at Philadelphia Theatre Company's stage at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, 480 S. Broad Street. Raices Theatre Company, Western New York's premier Latinx theater production company, will host playwright Marco Antonio Rodriguez today, November 30th. Rodriguez will be attending the opening night of Raices' production of his play Barcelo on the Rocks. This marks the second time that Barcelo On The Rocks has received a fully staged production and the first time that the play has been produced in the English language. The play was first produced in 2014 by Repertorio Español and the original run was extended due to popular demand. Barcelo on the Rocks has been recognized as the winner of the MetLife Nuestras Voces playwriting competition and Rodriguez received an award for outstanding playwriting from the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) for the play.

Just last night, Manhattan Theatre Club presented its 2018 Fall Benefit, honoring legendary three-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters. Peters has been a longtime member of the MTC family, since she co-starred with Christine Baranski in Sally and Marsha, directed by Lynne Meadow in 1982, at which time she joined the MTC Board.

Regeneration Theatre announces a fully staged revival of the infamous 1960s musical SKYSCRAPER will play Urbanstages' Theatre at 30th Street in May 2019, directed and choreographed by Chad Austin, the newly announced Artistic Director of Abingdon Theatre. This will be the 2nd show in Regeneration Theatre's 2018-19 season, following on from the currently running production of SMALL CRAFT WARNINGS by Tennessee Williams at 13th Street Repertory Theatre until Nov 11, 2018.

Abingdon Theatre Company isn't one to shy away from grandiosity. Sure, the 26-year-old grassroots theatre company may pride itself on its daring, intimate productions, but that doesn't mean they don't know how to throw a party, repeatedly pulling out all the stops at their annual anniversary bash. "We're able to take something small - say, a show with a seven or eight-member cast - and transform it into this big, lavish spectacle… without sacrificing the true heart of the story or the music or any of that," says company Associate Artistic Director Chad Austin. "You could say it's our special little Abingdon touch." One look at last year's flashy, brassy And the World Goes 'Round gala event, which capped off a quarter century on the off-Broadway scene, and you're sure to agree. That's likely why it comes as no surprise that this year finds them back at the Edison Ballroom ringing in #26 with a(nother) glam and glitzy extravaganza like only they can produce.
