Yesterday UK Theatre gave out awards to leading talents in performing, producing and theatre management throughout the United Kingdom. Sheffield Theatres' SHOW BOAT and FLOWERS FOR MRS HARRIS together took Best Musical Production, while Clare Burt picked up a performance award for the former and Rebecca Trehearn for the latter. Charlene James won Best New Play for CUTTIN' IT, and Paapa Essiedu Best Performance In A Play for the Royal Shakespeare Company's HAMLET.
Belgrade Theatre Sets Full Autumn 2016 Season

Coventry's Belgrade Theatre has today announced full details of the shows to feature in its Autumn 2016 Season which include a brand new production of original British rock 'n' roll musical, Roll Over Beethoven from the director of Three Minute Heroes, the UK premiere of Ostrich Boys in B2, based on the award-winning novel by Keith Gray and the return of Birmingham comedy-legend Jasper Carrott and award-winning impressionist Alistair McGowan to the Midlands from Tues 14 - Thurs 16 Mar 2017.

An epic new version of Shakespeare's King Lear plays at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from 19 to 28 May, commemorating 400 years since the playwright's death. A co-production between Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre and Talawa Theatre Company, and in association with The REP, King Lear is a brutal portrait of a man unravelling - pitted against his daughters, against nature and against the universe itself.

The new Spring and Summer 2016 season also features a ground-breaking new production of The Government Inspector, Don Warrington as King Lear, plus a major revival of Alan Bennett's Single Spies alongside a compelling mix of drama, comedy and family shows.

Ruth Wilson stars in the London premiere of The El. Train: three one-act plays by Eugene O'Neill (The Web, Before Breakfast and The Dreamy Kid). The plays, written between 1913 and 1918, are being presented together for the first time. Ruth acts in The Web and Before Breakfast, directed by Sam Yates, and makes her directorial debut with The Dreamy Kid. Combining live music with immersive design, all housed in the intimate setting of Grade II listed Hoxton Hall (built 1863, seating an audience of 125), The El. Don Warrington & Dona Croll to Star in ALL MY SONS at Talawa Theatre; Full Cast Announced

This autumn Talawa Theatre Company and the Royal Exchange Theatre will present a major revival of ALL MY SONS by Arthur Miller. The production will star two of the country's most distinguished actors - Don Warrington MBE (RISING DAMP, DEATH IN PARADISE) as Joe and Doña Croll (CASUALTY, DOCTORS) as Kate, and will run from Wednesday 25 September to Saturday 26 October 2013.

The critically acclaimed production, presented by Julian Stoneman Associates, in association with Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, follows sell-out runs on Broadway and in the West End.
