Scottsdale Musical Theater Company - one of the biggest producers of musicals in the Valley - is pleased to announce its slate of shows for 2019-2020!

SMTC is excited to announce one of its biggest casts ever for its upcoming production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. TV and stage stars Dawnn Lewis (TVs "A Different World", "Major Crimes", "Veronica Mars"; Dreamgirls and Sister Act: The Musical) and Marc Koeck (50th Anniv. International tour of West Side Story) appear in the jazz-age treat. Performances will take place at the Tempe Center for the Arts.

Somewhere between its opening of SWEET CHARITY in late June and the end of July, Reprise 2.0 postponed its second scheduled production of its inaugural season, VICTOR/VICTORIA. In its place, the company has mounted a revival of Kander & Ebb's musical revue, THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND, and, while it isn't a rarely revived book musical, which has always been Reprise's focus in the past, it does contain a score derived from some of the best songs in the classic Kander & Ebb catalogue (think CHICAGO and CABARET).

Following Reprise's successful re-launch (as the newly christened REPRISE 2.0) with a crowd-pleasing SWEET CHARITY, REPRISE 2.0 mounts THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND on the Freud Playhouse boards beginning September 5, 2018. We had the chance to chat with one of WORLD's talented cast members, theatre vet Valerie Perri on being back with Reprise, while hitting highlights of her extensive theatrical career.

It will play September 5 through September 16 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.  

The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Danny Feldman, Producing Artistic Director) announced today that this year's Panto at the Playhouse, Lythgoe Family Productions' A CINDERELLA CHRISTMAS (opening Thursday, December 8, 2016) kicks off with a special Tree Lighting Celebration on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue).

August Wilson's hard-hitting 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' opened September 11 and continues through October 16, 2016, at the Center Theatre Group/ Mark Taper Forum. BREAKING THROUGH, a world premiere musical, features a book by Kirsten Guenther, and music and lyrics by Cliff Downs and Katie Kahanovitz. The production is choreographed by Tyce Diorio and directed by Sheldon Epps. "The Tallest Tree in the Forest", A Play with Music written and performed by Daniel Beaty, is being directed by Moises Kaufman in its World Premiere production at Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper Forum at the Music Center in Los Angeles.
