The holidays are Rob Mathes' favorite time of year - they are the time that Mathes returns home to the Greenwich, Connecticut, area and performs his annual Holiday Concert. This year's concerts are December 14 and 15 at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, and December 16 at the Schimmel Center in New York City. All three concerts are sold out and will feature Rob Mathes, his all-star band, his choir of 'Saints and Friends' and special guests Sting, Vanessa Williams and David Sanborn who will join Rob for a few holiday-themed songs at the Performing Arts Center. Sting and Vanessa Williams will also join Mathes at the Schimmel Center on Sunday for a few songs.

Sands Shares 'Tomorrow's Gone/ Burning Man' Single

London-local songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sands has released his brand new double A-side single, 'Tomorrow's Gone' / 'Burning Man', on November 30, via Spaghetti Sounds. Sands will also be sharing a visual accompaniment for the 'Burning Man' part of his double A-side single, directed by Eddie Plex. Composed, produced and performed by Sands himself, the double A-side single follows on from his sophomore EP 'Waves Calling'. The New School Launches The Philip Glass Institute

The New School's College of Performing Arts (CoPA) today announced a landmark partnership with the Philip Glass Ensemble (PGE) and long-time PGE member, Lisa Bielawa, around the work of Philip Glass, one of the world's preeminent composers, musicians, and authors, to form a new learning and creative center. Building on Glass's enduring contributions to modern culture, the Philip Glass Institute (PGI) will offer students, faculty, and the public the opportunity to immerse themselves in the work of Philip Glass, other important artists within his circle, and the work of the iconic Philip Glass Ensemble. Renowned composer and long-time vocalist for the PGE Lisa Bielawa will become the inaugural Composer-in-Residence and Chief Curator of the Philip Glass Institute.
