Hudson Stage To Present PROOF By David Auburn

Hudson Stage announces its spring mainstage production as part of its 20th anniversary season: PROOF by David Auburn, directed by Dan Foster. Originally produced on Broadway in 2000, the play received national attention, earning the Pulitzer Prize, the Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award.

Raven Theatre Announces 2019-20 Season

Raven Theatre announces its 2019-20 Season, kicking off this fall with the Chicago premiere of Rachel Bonds' drama SUNDOWN, YELLOW MOON, directed by Artistic Director Cody Estle and featuring music and lyrics by The Bengsons. Director Robyn Cohen To Helm THE ELEPHANT MAN at El Portal

Co-Producers Tom Vitorino and Alice L. Walker (Thursday Night Theater Club), have signed acclaimed director/actor, Robyn Cohen for The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance at The El Portal Theatre MainStage.  Both Vitorino and Walker are thrilled to have Robyn Cohen at the helm directing their cast of twelve. This will be her second time to direct with Thursday Night Theater Club.

David Harbour, Sue Jean Kim, Ciaran Hinds, And Molly Bernard Set For Playing On Air's Winter/Spring 2019

Announced today, Playing on Air's Winter/Spring 2019 season will include work by playwrights Gracie Gardner and Chiara Atik. The season will also include the April release of the highly-anticipated live recording of David Auburn's AN UPSET, starring David Harbour (Netflix's "Stranger Things," Hellboy) and Steven Boyer (Hand To God, NBC's "Trial & Error") and the re-release of Lynn Nottage's POOF! with Audra McDonald, Tonya Pinkins, and Keith Randolph Smith.

Cue Zero Theatre Company Announces Season And Auditions

Cue Zero Theatre Company will be producing three main stage productions, as well as numerous side projects as part of their first full season. All three main stage productions will showcase our 2018/2019 resident artist, Marjorie Boyer. The projects will take place around various locations in southern New Hampshire, primarily in Manchester and Concord. The company will also be producing a plethora of online content through social media.

2013 Tony Award Honoree Bill Craver Dies Age 87

Bill Craver, who was honored in 2013 with a Tony Award for Excellence in the Theatre, died peacefully at the age of 87 on November 8, 2018, in Austin, Texas. Born in Texarkana, he graduated from Texas High and studied for two years at Texarkana College, before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin.

American Blues Theater Adds Ensemble Members, 'Buddy Holly' Zachary Stevenson Appointed To Artistic Affiliates

American Blues Theater announces the addition of five new Ensemble members and one new Artistic Affiliate to the Blues family. Joining the Ensemble is director, designer and Associate Producer Elyse Dolan, who directed several works in past Ripped and Blue Ink festivals; designer Jared Gooding, lighting designer of Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story; actor Philip Earl Johnson, who is slated to appear in the upcoming Chicago premiere of Steven Dietz's On Clover Road; director Chuck Smith, director of the recent American Blues production of Pearl Cleage's Flyin' West; and actress and playwright Wandachristine, who won many awards for her solo performance Beauty's Daughter. Actor Zachary Stevenson has been named an Artistic Affiliate. Stevenson recently made his Chicago debut as 'Buddy Holly' in American Blues Theater's Joseph Jefferson Award-winning musical Buddy - the Buddy Holly Story, in which he also won a Jeff Award for Performance in a Musical.

The hit comedy A Doll's House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath, nominated for eight Tony Awards during its 2017 Broadway run, will premiere at George Street Playhouse's current venue, 103 College Farm Road in New Brunswick, NJ, featuring Kellie Overbey (Broadway's The Coast of Utopia) in the leading role of Nora Helmer.

Final Two Weeks To See Manhattan Theatre Club's THE NAP on Broadway

Manhattan Theatre Club's American premiere of The Nap, written by Olivier Award nominee Richard Bean (One Man, Two Guvnors) and directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan (Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes; Rabbit Hole; Proof) is playing its final two weeks of performances. The play must close on Sunday, November 11th at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Casting Confirmed For PROOF At Hope Mill Theatre

Casting has been confirmed for Proof at the Hope Mill Theatre, by the Pulitzer Drama Prize winning playwright David Auburn. Having produced ten musicals with Aria Entertainment during the venue's opening three years, Proof will be Hope Mill Theatre's first self-produced play. Proof is Auburn's passionate, intelligent story about fathers and daughters, the nature of genius, and the power of love. Starring Angela Costello, Lucy Jane Dixon (Hollyoaks, Waterloo Road), Sam Holland and David Keller, the production also mark's the directorial debut of Hope Mill Theatre's co-Artistic Director, Joseph Houston.

HATE BABY, HEDGEHOG YEARS, and HORSE LATITUDE Win Inaugural James Stevenson Prize For Comedic Short Plays

Playing On Air announced today the three winners of the inaugural James Stevenson Prize for comedic short plays. First Prize ($7,500, plus a Playing On Air recording for radio and podcast distribution) has been awarded to Hate Baby by Gracie Gardner. (Gardner is also the winner of the 2017 Relentless Award and author of the New York Times Critic's Pick Athena.) Second Prize ($2,000) has been awarded to Hedgehog Years by Lily Akerman. Third Prize ($1,000) has been awarded to Horse Latitudes (Who Wants to be an Equine Extra?) by Elizabeth Logun.
