What did our critic think of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at Orpheum Theatre Memphis?

There were so many magical moments with this show that it is hard to keep track of them all. Teh opening set the stage and With this opening, the show creates a magical bond with the audience, one that would not be broken until long after leaving the theater.

The National Tour production of Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' is a fun show with a sincere love for the story it is telling, and it honors that with care and joy while helping bring the story to new and returning audiences alike.

The current BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tour is a celebration of the Broadway musical’s 30th anniversary, and a chance for director and choreographer Matt West and book writer Linda Woolverton to revisit a stage version they have been working on since it all began in Houston during 1993.

Disney is developing a new spin-off movie centering on the fan-favorite villain Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. The studio has recruited Dave Callaham to write the screenplay, with Michelle Rejwan set as a producer.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at Bass Concert Hall dazzles with flawless tech, lush visuals, and choreography that hits like a burst of joy. The cast shines, the magic lands, and the nostalgia is real. Just be ready to chat with your kids about the story’s dated messaging. Spectacle soars, but the morals need a closer look.

There’s nothing so joyful and energizing as watching a stage full of talented and skilled performers pour their hearts out through each step and with each note of such a heartwarming, spectacle-filled, magical production as this!

Broadway’s original 'Belle,' Susan Egan, surprised the Beauty & the Beast tour's Kyra Belle Johnson, along with the entire North American touring company. The two Belles performed a special rendition of the titular song in Nashville. Watch the video!

A tale as old as time has been reimagined for the stage; Beauty and the Beast returns to Detroit at the Fisher Theater now through October 12. The story we all know in love is performing on stage through October 12. Get your tickets here. Beauty and the Beast is a story of falling in love with someone for who they are inside, not judging a book by its cover. This show, based on the classic 1991 animated film, was also the first Broadway production for Disney. I loved seeing the show reimagined in a new way.

This Tuesday is Disney Night on Dancing With the Stars! The opening number, set to “Be Our Guest” from “Beauty and the Beast” and choreographed by Mandy Moore, will feature a guest appearance by Danny Gardner.

I knew I was in good hands when the sparkling new production of the beloved classic begins with Angela Lansbury's voice reciting the story that has captured children's minds for years. It was a lovely touch to settle into the familiar story,  hearing the voice of Mrs. Potts from the Disney animated film beckon us.

There’s something surreal about sitting in a packed Orpheum Theatre, surrounded by kids in Belle dresses and adults mouthing lyrics under their breath, watching a story you’ve known since forever unfold with so much earnestness it almost disarms you. This new touring production of Beauty and the Beast doesn’t try to rebrand the fairy tale or shake up the formula — and honestly, that might be its smartest move.
