Birdland Theater will present Nashville vocalist Wendy Moten – best known for her 2021 run on NBC’s “The Voice” – in an exclusive six-show concert engagement from Friday, November 18 to Sunday, November 20 with performances at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM each night.

Today's question is: Who has worn the most hats on Broadway- director, producer, writer, actor, etc.? Here are a few folks that could hold a record for the 'number of hats' they've worn on Broadway shows. Part one includes those who have worn four or five hats on Broadway shows and part two will include those who have held even more positions than that!

54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents Brandon James Gwinn in Four Pianos on Thursday November 3rd at 9:30pm. Richard Rodgers Award winner and celebrated nightlife pianist Brandon James Gwinn (he/they), flanked by an expanded version of their T-shirt Tuxedo Trio, brings an evening of music to Broadway’s Supper Club tributing four of his favorite singing pianists: Blossom Dearie, Frances Faye, Diana Krall, and the fabulous Bobby Short. 

The Merriest is Jane Monheit’s second holiday album, following 2005’s The Season. On this release, the celebrated jazz singer continues her tradition of imbuing timeless music with her unique vocal and jazz stylings. Produced by Rick Montalbano, The Merriest is a personal collection of festive faire handpicked by Monheit herself.

Phillip Officer was a prevalent name in NYC cabarets in the 1990s and early 2000s. He made a name for himself on Broadway in the cast of the original SIDE SHOW. And his cabaret evenings were always highly regarded by critics and audiences alike. But as he explained this evening, in 2008 he packed everything he owned into several large bags and not quite knowing why boarded a plane to Las Vegas, a place he had never been, with the intent of starting a new life. His baggage was lost along the way. How’s that for a metaphor?

THERESE LEE  returns to New York for an encore performance of her new show, RIDING THE BUS TO THE RED CARPET.  In it, she recalls her days in Los Angeles as an entertainment reporter too broke to own a car, and shares what her interactions with some of Hollywood's biggest stars during that time did to change her life forever. 

If you start with a talented singer, back him up with a skilled pianist/arranger and secure a Director who can weave it all together, you have the team in place to create a great show.

The Syracuse University Department of Drama begins the 2022/2023 season on Oct. 15.

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present vocalist and pianist Steve Ross in a special new show “Autumn Serenades” on Monday, October 24 at 7:00 PM. Ross will sing a few mellow seasonal ballads, including “September in the Rain,” “Autumn Leaves,” “September Song,” and “When October Goes.”
