Apple and A24 just celebrated the LA premiere of Joel Coen's upcoming 'The Tragedy of Macbeth' film, premiering in select theaters on December 25, and globally on Apple TV+ on January 14, 2022.

Denzel Washington appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night! In his interview, Washington talked with Colbert about Shakespeare, and previewed his new film, 'The Tragedy of Macbeth,' which hits theaters on Christmas Day and streams on Apple TV+ beginning January 14th.

The new film will be shown for free in IMAX theaters world-wide, followed by a live Q&A with Joel Coen and Frances McDormand at AMC Lincoln Square, livestreamed across select IMAX theaters in North America. Academy Award-winning singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, H.E.R., is currently in final talks to make her feature film debut in the upcoming movie musical adaptation of The Color Purple.

Blitz Bazawule will direct the movie, according to Deadline, with a script by Marcus Gardley. 

Upcoming theatrical releases include Spielberg’s untitled film starring, among others, Oscar® nominee Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano and Gabriel LaBelle.

Despite widespread acclaim, the film has also sparked online criticism and debate about its lack of adequate Afro-Latinx representation, particularly in its leading cast.
