Stages St. Louis has announced full casting for their season opening production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The ensemble, comprised entirely of actors who call St. Louis home, includes multiple St. Louis Theater Circle Award winners.

MTH’s World Premiere production of “Moby Dick a sea shanty” should not be missed. This “Moby Dick” is a remarkable, boiled-down, reinterpretation of Herman Melville’s massive dark 1851 tome. MTH manages to somehow transform this dark mid-nineteenth century novel into an engaging and engrossing musical entertainment. 

Music Theater Heritage has released first look photos from MOBY DICK: A SEA SHANTY, now playing at Crown Center. The world premiere adaptation, written and directed by Tim Scott, reimagines Herman Melville’s novel as a memory play featuring sea shanties. Performances will continue through April 19.

Tim Venable first fell in love with Shakespeare's classic love tragedy when he read it in his 10th grade English class. Seeing the play, watching Franco Zeffirelli and Baz Luhrmann's film versions in college, and playing Balthasar and Benvolio in two different productions have all added to his passion for what he believes is The Bard's best work.
