The Adobe Theater has announced its next presentation of two one-acts – a hilarious British comedy and a poignant drama.

Art Lab and ShowTown Productions just announced that Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young – former “American Idol” contestants who are married in real life – will co-star in a new virtual production of the 2013 Broadway musical comedy, First Date. The production, directed by Meg Fofonoff, will stream for five performances from July 23-25 on the ticketing platform, Stellar. 

Young Actors Theatre will present GREASE as its 2021 Summer Main Stage production, with live performances running June 25 to July 10, 2021. ​

Possum Point Players' new outdoor stage started with a hopeful rainbow, then became furnished as a Pennsylvania country house sunroom, and has now transitioned into a look into the vastness of the stars in the sky that wraps around our earth and stage. 'Silent Sky,' based on the life of pioneering female astronomer, Henrietta Leavitt, opens Friday, June 4, outdoors under the night sky at Possum Hall.

The previously announced production lineup has been adjusted. The rights for Mamma Mia are recalled due to a planned national tour in 2022 and is no longer part of the schedule. Floyd Collins has also been canceled.

Ted Chapin has decided to step down as President and Chief Creative Officer of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization at the end of his current contract this month, Scott Pascucci, CEO of Concord, announced today. His departure comes exactly 40 years after the Rodgers and Hammerstein families first tapped Chapin to run their business.

The title may be 'Silent Sky,' but it's time to talk out loud about the next mainstage production coming to Possum Point Players. Set for June 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13, it tells the true story of a pioneering woman astronomer who broke a sky-high glass ceiling as she pursued her love of studying and living her dream among the stars.

Theatre NOVA, in collaboration with The Ringwald Theatre, will release their filmed version of 'A New Brain' by William Finn and James Lapine via Broadway on Demand during June of 2021. By the Tony Award-winning authors of 'Falsettos,' 'A New Brain' is a life-affirming, heartfelt, often comical musical about a composer during a medical emergency.

Company, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Marianne Elliott starring Tony and Grammy Award winner Katrina Lenk as Bobbie and two-time Tony Award and two- time Grammy Award winner Patti LuPone as Joanne will resume preview performances on Monday, December 20, 2021 ahead of a Sunday, January 9, 2022 official opening night, pending Broadway’s anticipated return with government approval, and following health and safety guidelines.

The Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 production of Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu’s acclaimed, award-winning play PASS OVER, directed by Obie Award winner Danya Taymor (“Daddy”, Heroes of the Fourth Turning) will reopen Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre (245 W 52nd Street, New York, NY) for a limited engagement, with exact dates to be announced shortly. This will mark the Broadway debut of both Nwandu and Taymor. PASS OVER will be produced on Broadway by Matt Ross, Jujamcyn Theaters, Lincoln Center Theater, Concord Theatricals, Renee Montgomery, Blair Underwood, Madeleine Foster Bersin and Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu.

TheaterWorksUSA will host Kristin Stokes and Jalynn Steele in the virtual academy. Stokes and Steele return to TheaterWorksUSA after originating the roles of Annabeth and Sally in The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Both artists launch their classes on May 8th, 2021. 

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced the premiere of a special new adaptation of The Niceties written directly for the virtual stage by Eleanor Burgess and directed by Kimberly Senior, streaming on demand from Thursday, May 27 through Sunday, June 13 only in association with The Huntington.
