This morning, The Recording Academy announced that Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's recording of Bruckner's Symphony No. 9 were nominated for three Grammy Awards. This marks the third consecutive year the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Honeck have been nominated. On Friday, June 21, Cleveland Orchestra Music Director Franz Welser-Most will be awarded a Gold Medal in the Arts by the Kennedy Center International Committee on the Arts at a ceremony held in Vienna's Albertina Museum. Today the 34th Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced that Michael B. Jordan is set to receive the Cinema Vanguard Award for his work in two of the year's critically acclaimed, culturally significant and record-breaking box office hits, Black Panther and Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM), Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema's Creed II. Jordan will be honored at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, CA on Thursday, February 7th.
