Surflight Theatre has announced that they will be continuing their 2023  Season with the energetic romp full of impressions, wit, and charm, Popcorn Falls.

New Jersey Repertory Company “NJRep,” located at 179 Broadway in Long Branch presents “Popcorn Falls” written by James Hindman and directed by Rose Riccardi. The play stars James Hindman and Tom Souhrada.

The Peccadillo Theater Company will present Edward James Hyland and Robert Cuccioli in  Uncle Ted: Scenes from the McCarrick Report, a new play by Dan Wackerman, directed by Michael Parva with John Fitzgibbon, Daren Kelly, Robert Verlaque, Kersti Bryan, Jonathan Brody, Jim Schubin, Michael Castillejos, and more.

NO ONE OWNS ME by Chris Cragin-Day and Pia Wilson running at AD Players is one of the most exciting productions occurring this winter in Houston. The play involves the daily lives and conversations of two Houston women. Sex trafficking advocate and counselor, Carla, and recent victim, Macey, discuss sex trafficking—both past and present—and what it means for both of their futures.

F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, will complete ten years of its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the IRT Theater as part of their 3B Development Series in Manhattan's West Village with The Spring Fling: Happily Ever After.

Sea Dog Theater follows up their award-winning 2018 season with the World Premiere of Devin Burnam's site-specific play, The Catastrophe Club. The production runs October 18 - November 22 and is directed by longtime Sea Dog collaborator Shaun Bennet Fauntleroy. Opening night is slated for October 18.

Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its four finalists for the 2019 Premiere Play Festival. Now in its 15th year, the Festival is an annual competition for unproduced scripts that offers developmental opportunities to playwrights with strong affiliations to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. This year's finalists were selected from a record 659 submissions, a 15% increase from the previous record set in 2018.

Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its four finalists for the 2018 Premiere Play Festival and will increase its cash awards for honored playwrights by one-third, the theatre announced today. Premiere Stages received a record 572 submissions for the festival, an annual competition for unproduced scripts that offers developmental opportunities to playwrights with strong affiliations to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The 572 submissions marked a 43% jump from 2017, and represented playwrights of all backgrounds and ages. For the first time in the festival's 14-year history, three of the four finalist scripts selected were requested from synopses submitted by playwrights.

Nashville based duo, Don & Lori Chaffer have been making music together for a long time. With over 15 full-length albums under their belt, they continue to write and record music and, as of the last 10 years, musicals. Yep musicals.

For the first time in its 13-year history, Premiere Stages will provide expanded development to five new works in one season, including the New Jersey Premiere of Skeleton Crew, the third play in Dominique Morisseau's critically acclaimed Detroit cycle, and the first professional production of Chris Cragin-Day's heartwarming play, Foster Mom, winner of the 2017 Premiere Stages Play Festival. This season will also feature free developmental workshops of Patricia Cotter's 1980 (Or Why I'm Voting For John Anderson), runner-up for the 2017 Play Festival, and two exciting new play commissions, Nicole Pandolfo's Brick City, developed in cooperation with NJPAC and the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, and Martin Casella's Black Tom Island, recipient of the 2017/2018 Liberty Live Commission in partnership with Liberty Hall Museum.
