The Hermitage Artist Retreat has announced the first several programs for the new calendar year. These events will be presented on the Hermitage’s historic beachfront campus on Manasota Key and throughout Sarasota County.

The Hermitage Artist Retreat (Sarasota County, Florida) has announced that it will present a showcase of new work created during the inaugural year of the Hermitage Cross Arts Collaborative. Made possible with generous support from the Koski Family Foundation, this new initiative is designed to give performers and company members from leading Sarasota arts organizations a chance to expand their artistic practice from 'performer' to 'creator.'

Artistic Director of New Perspectives Jack McNamara is to step down in July after nine years in the role, to take up a new position as Artistic Director of Newcastle's Live Theatre.

The 2020 Adelaide Festival curated by Artistic Directors Neil Armfield AO and Rachel Healy has seen a triumphant 17 day event unfold with sold out shows, the biggest schools program in Festival history and box-office success. With two days still to go the Adelaide Festival has increased its total audience attendance by 24.8%, has smashed its box office target (of $4.7 million) and generated the second highest box office in the event's 60-year history, so far achieving a total box office income in excess of $5.3 million (figure is inclusive of umbrella shows, but does not include WOMADelaide).

In 2020, Adelaide Writers' Week the second from Director Jo Dyer, contemplates one of the few things that incontrovertibly unites us all: Being Human. Running from Saturday 29 February to Thursday 5 March as part of the 60th anniversary Adelaide Festival, Adelaide Writers' Week will explore how humans engage with each other, with technology, and with the natural world.

New Perspectives' production arrives at The Marlowe Studio on Wednesday 16 October, straight from a run at Trafalgar Studios, London. 

BAFTA and Olivier award-winning playwright debbie tucker green's drama about relationships, power and sex tourism will tour for the first time in a new production from East Midlands theatre company New Perspectives. trade is set on a Caribbean island and tells the story of three women, each distinct from the others. As the sun beats down, the drinks are poured for tourists and men flitter in and out of the picture, their three very different stories emerge. On the surface, they have little in common: the youngest is visiting for the first time, another lives here permanently and the last woman is a regular visitor. But despite their apparent differences, it gradually becomes clear their lives are all shaped by the same thing: transactions.

After a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe and a sold-out run at the Arcola at the end of last year, Gbolahan Obisesan's adaptation of Chigozie Obioma's novel The Fishermen is now at the Trafalgar Studios.

New Perspectives has announced new casting for the return of their award-winning production of Chigozie Obioma's Booker Prize-shortlisted novel The Fishermen, with David Alade joining the cast in the role of Ben alongside Valentine Olukoga who will reprise the role of Obembe. David Alade has previously played the lead role of Thomas in Stormzy's short film Gang Signs & Prayer directed by Rollo Jackson for the BRIT Award winner's debut album release. Most recently, David has written and performed in Foxhunting (Courtyard Theatre), a verbatim drama drawing on transcripts of interviews with South Londoners about their experiences of knife crime.

The North Wall Arts Centre today (1st October 2018) announces the appointment of its new Creative Associates. The ten companies and artists have been appointed by Co-Directors Ria Parry and John Hoggarth to inform the Oxford venue's artistic vision and to shape future collaborations. The Associates will be supported through R&D, residencies and co-productions.
