The producers of the new musical AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, announced today that the world premiere will take place in Las Vegas at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts on October 26-31, 2021 followed by a multi-season tour that will visit more than 50 cities in the 2021-2022 season.

The project is a collaboration between Radar Pictures and writers Kit Williamson (Emmy-nominated creator of Netflix's LGBTQ comedy series 'EastSiders') and New York Times best-selling author Brittany Cavallaro (the 'Charlotte Holmes' series).

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that they will present the 2020 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre to four outstanding contributors to the Broadway industry - Fred Gallo, President of PRG Scenic Technologies; Broadway press agent Irene Gandy; stage manager Beverly Jenkins and New Federal Theatre, Woodie King, Jr. Founder.

Performances of BEDLAM's World Premiere of PERSUASION begin Saturday, September 11, 2021, at The Connelly Theater (220 East Fourth Street), opening Tuesday, September 21, for a limited 7-week engagement.

BEDLAM’s PERSUASION, a new play by Sarah Rose Kearns adapted from the novel by Jane Austen and directed by Eric Tucker, will feature Sarah Rose Kearns, Rajesh Bose, Caroline Grogan, Nandita Shenoy, Jamie Smithson, Randolph Curtis Rand, Shaun Bennet Fauntleroy, Claire Hsu, Annabel Capper and Yonatan Gebeyehu.

The new dates follow Cobb’s special co-headline “Soapbox Derby Tour” with Nikki Lane, which includes shows at Chicago’s Thalia Hall, Lexington’s The Burl, Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, Philadelphia’s Ardmore Music Hall, Washington DC’s Union Stage, Charlotte’s Neighborhood Theatre and Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse among several others.

Different art forms reframe and reimagine one another to form an original vision of two traditional works: united by their sense of drama, characterisation and feeling. The dramatic movements of Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons interweave with Goethe's novel The Sorrows of Young Werther to bring its haunting story to life.

With Pass Over moving into their space, another big step was taken on the Road to Reopening for Broadway in particular - along with the announcement of safety plans and procedures from the League and Unions.

In other big news, Maroon 5’s 2011 mega-smash “Moves Like Jagger” [feat. Christina Aguilera] just achieved a diamond certification from the RIAA, making it their first diamond single. It’s yet another major accolade for the band.

The Broadway League announced today that the owners and operators of all 41 Broadway theatres in New York City will require vaccinations for audience members, as well as performers, backstage crew, and theatre staff, for all performances through October 2021.

The gift is the single-largest individual donation in Central Piedmont's 58-year history and among the largest gifts ever made to a community college nationwide.

Actors’ Equity Association and the Broadway League have announced an agreement on safety protocols for Production Contract shows on Broadway and in sit-down productions across the country. This news comes as Pass Over, the first Broadway play set to resume performances, moves into the August Wilson Theatre today for rehearsals.
